My sons first car was one I discarded when I bought a van. I drove the van into the ground so now that my dd is driving she is having to drive my vehicle. I am having to drive my husbands truck at the moment so at some point in the future we will buy her a car. She is looking for a job,but no luck so far. She will be responsible for gas and upkeep once she finds a job though.

We bought our sons' first cars----used. Because we wanted them to be safe cars, cars with 4 wheel drive (for the winters here), w/decent tires, etc. DH had them checked out also at the auto-service we use.
Thing is, our sons' safety was first, not money. We wanted them to have the best car WE could afford for them, not what they could afford. That would have been just too scary for us.______
