Has anyone else fallen off the frugal wagon lately?
I'm ashamed to admit that I have. I started working again a couple of months ago and I've been trying to adjust to my new lifestyle, but I've been doing it all wrong!
I have:
*Been eating out WAY too much.
*I've been buying convenience type foods to make my evenings go easier.
*I've been buying things like Lysol wipes (I love them!) and windex wipes. Good grief, I don't need windex wipes.
Not only that, I've been buying more junk food. Soda's and ice cream and all of those artery clogging treats.
I've also been slacking on electrical usage. I haven't been turning the computers off at night (we have 3) and sometimes fall asleep with the tv on.
I have to get back to my frugal roots. This is not who I am. I have to learn to be frugal while working.
Please, tell me I'm not the only one.

Yeppers, I just bought some completely unnecessary crapola off eBay yesterday (and the day before). *sigh* Just admitting to it makes me want to eat ice cream and a handful of chocolate chips. *stalking off to the kitchen*

I bounced around all summer. Back to tracking everything on paper - only thing that works for me. Don't worry you're normal - important thing is that we come back to the fold!! Take care and don't beat yourself up!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

We ate out 3 times last week! Yikes! Well, I was sick one night so DH brought food home.
And I went a little nuts on the snack food during the grocery trip, but it will mean we're stocked up for a month or so. Or we better be.

Yea last month was bad, This month so far is good. I think to with back to school everything is hectic on my end.

people or things.

I'm right there with ya...our spending/saving was really up and down (spending was mostly up and saving was mostly down) this summer. We ate out WAY more often than what I'd bugeted--once a week--and honestly we simply failed to follow a strict budget like I'd hoped to.
After tonight's shopping trip (I spent 1/3 of my grocery budget--and it's only the first week of the month!!!) I am recommitting myself to my tracking of spending DAILY (hopefully we won't spend money every day!) and getting our budget under control.May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
No wasted food!
Stick to budget!
Track spending DAILY
Get checkbook balanced
Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200
2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge
2012 Goals
2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
3.Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
12. Taxes filed by March 17.

You are not the only one. I have made some stupid convience purchases out of pure laziness.

LOL you sure aren't the only one. I don't do it often, but yes I have setbacks also.
You said you started working again, that is what is doing it to you. Your routine is thrown off, trying to find that right balance of time again. You lost time working, it means your mind heads for easier convenience items to make life workable for you right now.
You will get into the swing of things again. You see it, are thinking about fixing it, so you are way ahead of the game. You will find the right balance again!
hang in there!

yes. i have fallen off the wagon.
as soon as school starts i will be back to "no spend" days and my routine.11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
credit card debt 7500
mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
then live on the rest!
i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
"i create prosperity, abundance, and savings for me and my household"

Ya. I fell off.
Kinda like Maui, I've been bouncing around all summer for a variety of reasons but I've begun to get more focused again. Hopefully I didn't do too much damage to life in general.

Me also, its seems like the kids have ate us out of house and home this summer. Feels like I live at the grocery store which is not good for our budget. We have ate out more than we should this summer to. A trip to Sonic cost our family of 5 usally $30 a pop. Got to get back on the frugal wagon.

I fell off a year ago, due to stress and grief; I haven't quite managed to climb back on yet, but I've got one hand on the rear bumper and I'm running along as best I can.
