    Default Why...

is it when you start getting ahead everything has to happen?

We just paid off a few small bills and are really starting to make progress with the snowball. Our ef was up to just under $500.
We have a chunk of linoleum in our shed for our bathroom. I figure if I start doing some of the projects around the house(especially the ones that I have the supplies for) It will keep me out of the stores. So yesterday I started pulling up those stupid stick on tiles that were on our bathroom floor. Then I could put the new linoleum right over top of the old stuff. The old linoleum has a big cut down the middle of it, no big deal except it is lifting too. I pull it back alittle to see what is going on and it stinks and is moldy. What the heck. It is right near the water tank. The stupid thing is leaking! It was put in new the month before we bought. Called the plumber and he fixed it for next to nothing. But then I had to take all the linoleum out too see how much damage their is.
Their are 2 spots that are pretty bad and the rest might just need to dry out. Just waiting for someone to get back to me about the floor now.

I get ya big time. We had a bad roof. My DH wouldn't do anything about it. It finally let go in a big rain. My DS helped me drill holes in the drywall to minimize the damage. DH, was of course, out of town. Well, i found a roofer and chimney guy and got it fixed. Now months have gone by and I have not gotten the ceilings fixed.(2 areas, 2 ceilings). Well, I want the one room back now. I have a phobia about opening that mess up. I have cleaned out most of the room but drywall mess and insulation and and and painting. I'm right there w/ you. One little thing can get huge fast. Be brave. Mold is bad. Power and energy sent your way.LOL.

I think this has to be like one of Murphy's laws or something. Just about the time that you think everything's going good...something breaks down and then another something goes wrong. I tend to just prepare for the fact that something somewhere will break, and deal with it when it comes. lol

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I found a guy to do it and he said he will have to buy a sheet of plywood and then his labor and we can do most of the other work to keep costs down. So next week we will be taking out the sink and vanity and ripping up the linoleum under that. Then he will come over and measure and get the wood cut and ready to go. He is hoping to be able to cut the flooring out and get the wood into place in one day since we only have one bathroom. We'll see. I'm just happy I found someone that can do it and won't try to rip me off. He is a friend from church.
