    Default Just made my first batch of jam

    All by scratch and using plums picked off the tree only a few hours ago. it is currently setting in jars as i speak and when it has cooled down i shall see how it turned out - its very tasty. yummy.

    My first ever attempt at making jam

    Keep to budget
    Make new saving accounts (1 for us 1 for DS)

    Save for Car MOT - £0/£300

    Savings for holiday: Approx - £15.00 (including change jar)


    Debt:
    Loan - £65 p/m Until Nov 2013
    CC - £580/£800

    For the OP what kind of peanuts did you use? I was thinking also of trying this . Last week I made home made butter turned out great.
    DH's chemo has ended and his Radiation treatments end Mon May 14 yeah...!!

    good for you! a friend came over and gave me some plums. i don't like them but dh does. so we kept a few for him to just eat. i had no idea what to do with the rest of them....so i cooked them with some sugar. it thickened it a little but not a jam consistency. i ended up with one large container. i am going to make a plum crumble or crisp. i have never done this before....so we will see.......i have never made a jam either...........not a betty crocker here......lol

    Sounds great! Grandma used to have a plum tree and I can remember sitting in it eating them.Yum Yum!

    Yum! Be careful... I made plum jelly this year (my first attempt at jelly) and ended up eating 1/2 a jar in the first week afterward!
    I think it tastes better when you make it yourself!!

    Great job! I can taste it from here, you will really love it when you open a jar this winter,
    I am kinda green with envy here,, my plum trees didnt have a single plum this year thus no jam.
