    Default I love saying " I don't do debt!"

It sure gets you some wierd looks!!!!

Our bank tries to push loans everytime you are there. I love the look on their faces when I say " I don't do debt!" I frequently wonder by the looks if I just sprouted extra eyes or ears. LOL

I love that saying! I may borrow it. I avoid debt & really don't like credit. I sort of tune out when a finanical expert starts talking about FICO scores (I hope that's the right spelling/letters). I'm a little to simple in my thinking on loans. Most times if I don't have the money then I don't need whatever it is. I get why the interest free for 90 days or whatever sounds good, but what if........ Things, unexpected things happen. Besides a loan at the new low rate is still going to cost me more than if I pay cash. I think those weird looks are because most see credit as a good thing & credit is debt. And debt IMO is a bad thing.

Toooo cute nodmicks, but I know what you mean. And they are really pushing that now that they have OUR MONEY ANYWAY!!!

The other great line is "I see that you qualify for...."......yeah, right. They are ALMOST getting worse than used car salesmen!!!

I just love that saying, I think I might just start using it with family and anyone else that start in on not spending money for this or that. Thanks.

I have two banks I do business with right now and I am about to go down to one so I don't have to worry about inactivity fees and the extra hassle of having the extra account (used to use one account for business income when I was self-employed, but that account sits with .01 all the time now.)

So I decided to talk to the banks about what savings accounts and such and the one actually had the nerve (I bike everywhere and they saw me pull up) to try and talk me into a car loan!!! So I won't be going with that one!

Once I'm out of debt I will not take on anymore debt. EVER!

Story of my life. In 2007 we had 78000 worth of debt, and we climbed out under it, on top of paying for a surgery with cash, bought a house, had a foundation shift and $11000 in repairs later we are good to go.. then I hear the words "I'm pregnant!"

Oooh, I love that phrase! I think I might use it too, it'd be much easier than trying to explain my whole money philosophy (ie. why I'm saving for a house instead of getting a mortgage)...I'll just say "I don't do debt!" from now on!
