Tree of Thanks and other Frugal Fall Decor
I saw one of these made last year by a friend and plan to make one for my family this year. Starting Nov. 1st we will be writing our things of thanks on the leaves. I will probably sit it out on our dining room table without the leaves at the beginning of Oct. because to me without the leaves it looks like a Halloween decoration

I have been searching for other frugal fall decor. We make a leaf man for our front porch and I have orange metal pumpkins for my front porch. What are other frugal fall decor things you use?

That is a really cute idea! I usually make a scarecrow because I just think they are so cute.

There is a Japanese holiday where people attach rolled up wishes to trees too.

Things you find in nature are such pretty fall decor - a bowl of walnuts fallen from a tree, rose stalks with rose hips on them, stalks of grass that have turned tan/brown with an orange ribbon, gourds, squash, acorns in a bowl or vase, yellow goldenrods or sunflowers.

this is a great idea! Normally I don't decorate for fall...just Christmas. But this thanksgiving tree is a really neat idea...kind of an extension of a gratitude journal. What a nice visual reminder of all the blessings in a person's life!

Now you have me thinking. Maybe I will take a walk around the trees here and see if there are any bushes with berries on them.

I have a screened in front porch. So I took fall leaves off various stuff and I throw them all over the porch. Too funny to watch the leaves blowing around. Then we sweep them up in Nov and put them up for next year.

I collect Barbie dolls and have several that are Native American collector designs. I bring them out into the living / dining area in the fall as decorations among my fall leaf ceramic and table top pieces.
