$80
We sat down last night and sorted change. Rolled $80 with leftovers for next time. That made me happy.

HP - congratulations - that's a lot of money!!
Lora88 - what great idea - I love the work that St. Jude's does. Think I will borrow your idea and perhaps ask others at school to join in!! Mahalo!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Lora, wow what a great idea. We always sort out the wheat pennies & other oddities but this will be a great thing for this season! The money I donated to St. Jude's last Christmas also got a teddy bear that is one of my wife's favorite seasonal decorations. Bingo, the kids won, I won... Happy Holidays to me.

Great idea about the pennies!! We saved change one year and were able to buy two heavy-duty bicycles for our missionaries in India.

I just dragged all our change to the bank. We've been saving it since we got engaged (about 7 years ago). It was $520. Pretty amazing!

We spend all our change! Don't know how people get by without spending it... It keeps our paws off the money in the bank.

Awesome!
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Wow, that is a lot of change. Atleast that is what the coin machine tells me when I go in. Yes, the change jar has gotten me out of many tight situations.
Right now I am only saving pennies. It does feel good when you are able to see a nice sum of money.

I took $16 in pennies to the bank today to deposit into my checking account. I spent $1 on the coin wrappers and spent 1 hour rolling the pennies, so I figure I cleared $15 an hour.
And while I rolled I watched a Robert Redford movie!
Not a bad way to spend some time.

Wow. How long did it take you to collect $80 in loose change?

Count it yourself and save the 10% fee!
wife says 6mo-8mo. but most of our purchases are cash so we accumulate change... and every bit of change goes into a jar either upstairs in the closet when changing, (pun not intended, not even realized until later...) or downstairs for when we get home and empty pockets.
Once in a very great while when I know we're going to spend while out I will take 2 quarters (only if I know we don't need them to finish out the state quarter books), 2 or 3 nickels, 2 or 3 dimes, and 5 pennies. Figure I can even out anything with that, drives my wife nuts that I don't keep it in that jar...although (don't tell her) 95% of the time I bring it back home and put it back in the jar.

Nice job. You should join our change jar challenge. There are no rules, you can save whatever you want and do with it what you want, but it's always nice to see that total go up. I take my change in at the end of every month and deposit into our savings.

Good job. I have a bucket of change calling my name to do the same.
