Are Dimes the new Penny?
There was a post below, by Peanut, asking if anybody picks up pennies. I've been noticing over the past year or so, that while I used to see pennies on the ground all the time, I am now picking up more dimes than anything else!
Now, I know that society in general views the lowly penny as not even worth bending over for, but has the dime really been lowered to almost worthiless as well?
I even saw a girl at the farmers market drop TWO, look at them, and then walk away! I was, unabashed, right behind her, picking them up. They are still worth something to me!

The last 2 coins I have picked up when out shopping have both been dimes. Same parking lot too. I'll pick up pennies too

You must be in a rich neighborhood - we're still picking up pennies here!! Interesting observation. Our coins still have value to me!!

I've noticed more dimes around for the past 4 years (ever since my dad passed away- I like to think that they are from him!). I love finding dimes! Now if I can only find dollar bills!

I have picked up two twenty dollar bills this year. One was near a garage sale laying in the road when I turned around in the neighbors driveway, and one in a store recently.

Wagggh!! I never find anything but pennies. And very few of those lately. I don't even see any recyclable bottles laying around. Sign of the times here i guess.

I found a 5.00 Canadian bill(I live pretty close to the Canadian border) in the store the other day I tried to turn it back in to CS , but was told to keep because it was too small to be missed and they probably were in Canada by now.

We went to Target yesterday. Got out of the car and there was a dime. I bent over and picked it up and told hubby, "Dimes must be the new pennies". I put the dime and a dollar in the Salvation Army Kettle.

I'll pick up any of them, pennies included. I have noticed tho that especially teenagers won't stoop to pick up any change other than quarters, MAYBE quarters...
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

It's strange you post this cause a few minutes ago, a patient dropped a dime in my Triage room. After I finished with the patient, he left. I went to get the dime and he walked out. He wasn't in pain. So......I got a dime tip!

I found a toonie in the parking lot the other day at a nearby mall. Totally shocked me! A big two dollar coin! How could you miss it if it fell out of your pocket? I mean, they'd make a noise. Those are heavy coins! I pocketed it for sure.

I am constantly picking up pennies on my walk. Once in a while there might be a dime. One dime is actually curled. Haven't tried to use it yet.
