plug in kettle vs. stove top

Walgreens has electric kettles right now for $9.99...at least ours does. Don't know if this is good price or not. Guess it would be if one wanted one quickly.

I've been wanting one of these for the longest time. Just hate to spend the money. $10 does not sound bad.

Know the feeling. I guess if you REALLY made yourself use it every time possible and got in the habit of it. I looked at it and kept going back to look again. Didn't get it tho. Learning to walk away and decide "if I get this will I actually use it OR use it a couple days, wash it, put it away and never use it again."

That's true. I looked up different brands online and found that happiness varies with the brands. Most seem to like the ones that do not have the heating element exposed, and ones that are stainless steel inside so the water does not taste like plastic. Of course those are more expensive. I'd hate to spend money and find that it was too much of a hassle because of cleaning or the plastic factor and stick it away as another tried but didn't like product.

I am sooooo glad that I found this thread!! We bought for for MIL for Christmas and I was thinking at the time that we should have bought one for DH. Think I will check out the one at Walgreens for DH. Will let you know how it works.... thaat is if our Walgreens has it!!

Well, my friend came through - the one at Walgreens is called a hot pot. DH did not get the message obviously because this morning, the hot pot was still in is box and his 'boiling water pot' was on the stove. Shall lead him to it tonight!! And I'll let you know how this frugal water heater works!!

DH and I were just discussing it Polly - the words I used were - "this is for you to use when you boil water for your tea in the evening." I think that was pretty direct and clear, don't you? Think we'll do it together tonight, just to make sure!!

LOL.... We just use the microwave or the coffee pot for heating up water/tea ~ depending on how much we want to have heated up! nice to know tho...
