How many uses between washing?
Just wondering how often we all wash our clothes, towels, sheets etc. I lived with my best friends family for a year while in college, and I was shocked at how wasteful their laundry habits seemed to me. They washed everything after one use, including bath towels, jeans and sweaters. They thought I was so weird for reusing.
At our house this is what our habits look like:
bath towels: after 3 uses or so
wash cloths: 1 use
kitchen towels: about 1 day of use
sheets: washed about once a month
jeans: about 3 wearings
undies, socks, shirts: one day
pajamas: 2-3 uses
sweaters/hoodies: only when needed, several uses first
all of my work scrubs get washed after only one use

mine is in line with yours except, I use a towel for a full week. I make sure to hang it on the shower curtain rod after each use to dry fully though.
I was my sheets once a week as I have a cat that likes to sleep with me. We both shed greatly!
Thanks for letting me know there was at least one more person out there that doesn't wash after every single use.

I live in a house of men, and my men get things dirty. If I only washed their jeans every 3 wears they'd be able to get up and walk by themselves!~~~

We are a multi-use household too, as was my parents' household. And multi-use goes even farther now that it is just my husband and I. When we had all 5 children at home, some of their clothing didn't make it through even one day's use!

Laundry day is every other week. The only way I can manage this is by having enough underwear, bras, and socks for two weeks. Save so much money because I only have access to coin washing and drying machines.

We use things until they're visibly dirty. The kids' clothing is washed daily because they really don't remember how to use a napkin or anything (ugh). I wash DH's clothes daily because he works in a warehouse. My clothes are washed usually after a couple of wears for shirts and after four days per pair of jeans. My black pants are washed after every use because they show dirt more easily than my jeans.
I wash towels twice a week. Bedding is washed once a week unless one of the kids has an accident. In that case, they're washed daily.Wife to DH since 10/31/2002!

wash cloths: 2 weeks
kitchen towels/dish rags: a few days 3-4 less if soiled/smelly
sheets: every month
jeans: 1 use
undies, socks, shirts: 1 use
pajamas: 3-4 uses
sweaters/hoodies: visibly soiled

Oddly my BFF and I speak about this often. SHe wants to go longer like I do. Here I seem the longest. But my views are if you are clean when you get out of the shower, how dirty is that towel? Just wet.

towels, wash cloths, etc: weekly
sheets: weekly
blankets: every month or two
underwear: 1 use
dress shirts: 1 or 2 uses
sweatshirts: weekly
jeans: when they need it
athletic wear: 1 use
When I was a kid, I was taught that waste was the ultimate sin. I can't imagine washing towels, for example, after only one use. No disrespect intended towards those who do - it's just outside of my experience.

Two adults. We do 5-6 loads of laundry per week.
-Bath towels (1-each) and bath mat - use 1 week
-Wash cloths - use once
-Hand towels - changed daily, washed once a week
-Kitchen towels - 1 hand towel, 1 dish towel, 1 dish rag - changed daily and are washed once a week
-Sheets/pillowcases - changed and washed weekly
-Jeans/slacks/pants - 2-3 wearings (may not be consecutive)
-Undies and socks - 1 wearing
-Shirts - 2 days (may not be consecutive)
-P.J.'s - 3 days
We have a section in our closet we call the "need to finish dirtying" area. This is where we hang clothes we have worn, but are still serviceable.

Towels - four-six. This is my wife's doing. She finds it perfectly normal, whereas I had never heard of using a towel more than once until we got married.
