yum, excellent, thin, very salty.

Really appreciate your testing the white packaged WM food!! I really like their canned green beans too!!

I've had good luck with their generics. Of course, with three boys they'll eat most anything.

for example...the frozen lasagna is really good, not got that green peppery taste like stouffers, more of a homemade sauce.
graham crackers have all been good and crunchy
all the pastas cooked well

It's still the same great value product, just in a cheaper looking package. I still buy alot of things in their brand. Of course I'm not one to care what the package looks like. As long as it's cheap and tastes good I'm happy!

Any product I can buy the GV version of, I do! So far I haven't had issues with anything of theirs. They have new frozen pizzas that are to die for! Gourmet flavors, much cheaper than take out. and I like their "crystal light" mix better than the real stuff. You name it, and I use it from that store brand!

I picked up "Calidad" tortilla chips at Super Saver this week, I thought they were great & only $1.34. Sometimes generic can actually be better than the expensive brands. Santitas aren't bad either for $2.

I always buy GV when I'm there.

I agree...what we've bought at walmart that's generic has been great! Their medicines are good, too (equate brand). And I can't tell any difference between Renu brand contact cleaners/solutions/drops and the equate brand.
Oh, we get their tissues, too. The 3 pack is a good deal (at least up here).

Thanks LK - and the rest of the posters. That is good to know.
I don't shop there very often but will try their stuff when I am there next time.
I have even bought the dollar store tortilla chips and liked those - but I was just eating them with salsa - nothing serious.

We've been buying GV chips for a while. We like the plain, rippled and BBQ.
I prefer the sam's choice rootbeer over most name brands.
My sons like the beef jerky better too.
I've also used the jarred alfredo sauce. Love it.
There aren't very many "off" brands that we don't like. The only things I've found that aren't good are:
~hy-vee chunky sirloin burger soup
~aldi tomato soup
~aldi chicken noodle (The chunky type is really good)
The aldi pizzas and pizza rolls don't have much flavor anymore, so I'm always on the lookout for sales on the "better" brands.

The only GV things I don't like are the sour cream, steak sauce and velveeta. Otherwise everything is pretty good from what I have tasted.
