"shopping the Spring and Summer Store" Aka. Hand me down box

We turned the Chore of seeing what still fits from last year and what fits from the hand me down box into a fun game for my daughter.

We called the box the "Spring and Summer Store" I laid some clothing on the bed and we played store. I played the store clerk, suggested outfits ( when I wanted her to try on something together or found a hand me down I thought she would drool over). She played the customer and would try on and ask questions. If she liked it she put it on the "check out"

We were able to have fun. I was able to figure out what she really needed ( by sorting through the hand me sown box and last years clothing) and the price of the "Spring and Summer Store" Aka hand me down price was just right LOL Free!

I believe that I first heard of an idea similar to this from someone here at FV. If it was you stand up and let me thank you properly as this was a awesome idea for us.

Turned a chore into free. (Now if only I could figure out a fun way for a teenage boy to go through his last years and hand me down box)

Great idea! My kids love it when I drag out the totes of the next sized clothes! I'm not sure they realize that clothes come from store and not just from Mom's totes! Ssshhhhh!
