Question Do you refill your ink cartridges on your printer?

I'm seriously thinking of doing this but wanted to know if you have any stories to share about this. Does it work. Is it worth it?

I don't do it--I heard reasons why it was a pain in the neck to do and not worth it, but that's the only part I remember. I don't remember why Sorry....

I haven't tried it either. though after buying ink what to heck. I have heard it is a pain too because it is hard to get that ink into the cartridge without spilling.

We've tried it several times and didn't have a whole lot of luck. We have also purchased a recycled ink cartridge and it wasn't up to par either. I say bite the bullet and purchase new!

I bought one last time I needed ink and it worked great. I am still using the ink catridge I refilled now. It could be messy if you aren't careful. I will definately do it again to save money. It wasn't that hard AFTER I figured out what I was suppose to be doing...lol!!

I tried it but hated it & found a place to get the cartridges cheaper so I just buy them whenever I run low.

I bought the "As Seen on TV Universal Inkjet Refill Kit". I had a real hard time using their screw thing to open the ink compartments, so I got out the largest sewing needle I could find and that worked great. A safety pin would probably work as well. The kit comes with a syringe to fill the compartments and the instruction book tells you which color goes where. I did it over the kitchen sink.

I did have some trouble with the magenta not working, so I called the toll free HELP number and talked to a very nice young man who thought I had overfilled it. I removed a little ink from the magenta and I'm a printing fool again! I think it's important not to wait until the cartraige is empty, but to refill it while there is still SOME ink left.

I guess you can only refill a certain amount of times. There's probably enough ink in this kit to last 2 years! If I have to buy a cartriage in the mean time it won't bother me since I know I'll be able to refill it several times!

I'd recommend giving it a try.

Dh used the same one Karen used, just this weekend in fact. He said it was a pain and should be easier next time, then after 2 days of use the top of the cartridge kept popping off and would'nt stay so we gave up and bought new.

I have done this and it does work. But Karen is right, it will only work a couple of times per cartridge.

I wore disposable gloves, the ink doesn't wash off!

It is much, much cheaper for me. The black ink I can get for $10, and it will fill 2 cartridges, as opposed to $27 for one of mine!
I have 2 HP printers and they are the most expensive ink cartridges to buy.

We tried it once and the ink leaked out of the printer so we just buy new now
