I work with a girl who has no concept of what it is like to have to do without or having to decided "do I pay this bill or buy food". My husband and I many years ago had to make some decisions like that when money was real tight.. she makes fun of me when I find ways to save things and make do.
oh well let's hope she never has to make those kind of decisions.

sorry about the bad spelling...not my strong point

Just sit there and smile while you are enjoying your food.

I always get made fun of my TP stash. I don't like surprises esp when it comes to that product. Even hubby laughed because I get nervous if I have less than 2 cases. Anyway, fast forward to the day that we all had the tummy bug. There was no one available for a quick trip to the store - going out to the garage was chore enough. Hubby no longer says anything about my stockpile.

Guess there are more important things in life than food BF looked at one of those iPhones when we moved and needed a second cell phone...and then looked in a different direction as soon as he found out you can't have the darn things without a $30/month "data-plan"

I agree with a PP. I was stupid, but I doubt that stupid! lol
actually the young man watches me with my frozen soup/stew/chili portions.

i make huge 20 quart pots of hearty thick soups, stews, and chili and freeze portions. he seems fascinated but that's as far as it gets. i tell him i make my own frozen dinners.

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

I bet, they will come as you for advice when they are not all together. Maybe even start using some of the tricks you said during lunch.

When I used to work at our main office, the un-official rule was this, if an employee was doing without a decent lunch their manager would find a reason to take them to lunch. I planned several planning meetings and "so whats going on" meetings for mine.

I also always kept plenty of snack foods in an office drawer as well as plenty of change in another drawer. I made sure all of my employees knew where it was and if they needed to "borrow" something they were welcome to it, and there was no need to ask.

It really helped keep employee moral and productivity up. As a manager I always thought it was well worth the investment.

Just ask him, every time you see him at lunch, "How's that protein powder today?"
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I have just moved into the powdered portion of my pantry. I have a years worth of stockpile. My coupon binder, master list and I go everywhere together.
If you need to contact me I will answer you on my flip phone w/ antenna and no contract. I will be the lady w/ the paid for car sitting w/ the refilled water bottle at Sams club getting a treat lunch for $2. I may just stay for a samples dinner.
He doesn't know what over organized is. On the other hand, I've never been out of food and had to eat "protien powder dinner". Stupid is as stupid does.
