    Default 800,000 Cut Cable

I noticed this article on MSN today. 800,000 Cut Cable

It seems that many Americans are wising up and using things like Hulu and Netflix to cut out cable.

We haven't made the leap yet, but we are going to when Zac deploys.

In the past it has been something that was just talked about. Now that we are in serious save mode it will be getting cut. I never seem to be able to watch the shows anyway and always have to watch them online. Either because the girls are awake or I am working. Other then the food network I dont think I will be missing much anyway.

We are getting ready to cut cable and land line (through cable also). We will save about $100 a month. I ALMOST have hubby convinced.

We cut to basic a couple years ago. I don't miss it at all. In fact, I would stop it, but DH loves ESPN. So, for $15.00/mo it is peace in the house. lol

We cut off our cable well over 5 years ago now. We do not miss it. We thought we would, but the transition was pretty easy.

DH would love to have cable, but I keep stalling. I want our debt paid off before we add another unnecessary bill to the list. Instead we have good high speed internet and watch all our shows online. Saves us a lot of time and we can watch what we want when we want.

I find it interesting that most of our men want the cable. DH is the only reason I have it! I did cut the movies channels recently, but he has got to have all those sports channels! Ha, I rarely watch the tube...anything like part time cable out there?

We had satellite. Stopped it when we realized we were paying for mostly junk programming and nonstop ads. We have just what comes in on the antenna, and don't watch much of that either.

I had cable when it first came out; then I noticed after having it a few months, other than a couple of new movies everything seemed to be a repeat. I called them and they told me that they thought their programming was just fine; I cancelled and haven't had it since.

~We've never had it either but I do know what I'm missing and I'm thankful! Hours and hours of mindless, time-wasting programming that is mostly way off of our family values. I don't want to spend a ton of time policing the tv just for the few good channels that cable offers(love the History Channel when I visit my brother!). I don't care if hubby wants to watch sports. This house will never have cable!~

I'm almost ready to cut out cable. They are raising the prices AGAIN! ugh. If you don't have cable what do you need to do now to get basic programming since "rabbit ears" are no longer used?

There are antennas at walmart that are pretty small. I bought one for DD that was as big as a book. I believe it was about $40.

    I haven't had cable tv since 1987.
