This stinks!
Murphy STRUCK!
Yesterday we had soooo much rain, so fast, it filled the window wells then flooded a bedroom. We have had to rip out the dry wall. Insulation will need to be replaced as well.
No fun!!!!
Oh well, such is life. We'll fix it. DD13 wanted a new color... so maybe she'll get it!

How miserable for you!!

oh man that stinks....hope it wasn't in the middle of the night....couple of weeks ago we had a thunder storm late at night the lights went out then we notice that the rain was coming in through the air conditioner (window unit in the wall) down the wall ..husband figured out it was coming from the guttering because it was clogged up...so here he is out on the roof with the hard rain, lighting, thunder trying to get the gutter unclogged...somedays you got to wonder is their a brain under that hair...oh well he did get it unclogged....

No it was late afternoon. We just finished dealing with clogged gutters. We caught it within 20 minutes? DD13 had just packed for a sleepover, and then dh had gone downstairs. So it wasn't there long. We go have concern that the floor might lift... but so far so good.

I asked Russ to change your title - "Sucks" in the title causes some corporate web filter systems (like the one I'm behind) to block the thread as "probably sexual based on meta data in the header"
Stupid computers...
And sorry about your drywall problem! If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Update
Dh has finished the drywall today, and I have done 2 layers primer. Whew!
It looks good. I am wondering if I use white or finish off a can of colored paint.... That wall can barely be seen as the bunk beds go along it. So not too sure, the light blue would match the custom shelves we're building, but I also have the white here from a previous project....
I know one thing, we will NOT put it right tight to the wall, as it ruined one mattress. Granted older, but still. We will need ot get her a mattress but she has the top bunk for now...

Glad you were able to attack that problem - what color did you choose?

Water damage is always no fun!! At least you were home when it happened.
My neighbor was on vacation and came back to her whole basement and the ceiling above it flooded, water was coming in through the light sockets!!! Major damage!! One of the pipes in her bathroom had burst.....
Did you decide on a color yet?

We stuck with white walls. We had the paint already. We did build her a big shelving unit, mounted on pvc legs in the event there is another flood, and went with a pastel teal(we had it already from younger sisters room). It goes well as she has a snow leopard curtains and duvet cover
