    Default You asked a question...

... about someone else's financial situation like a relative, a neighbor, a friend etc etc.

And the kind folks of FV gave you their advice to either help that person, how to deal with a situation or whatever. Some even suggested to ask them to sign on to Frugal Village.

Did you get them to sign up to help them?

Do all your friends and relatives know about Frugal Village?

    OR

Is Frugal Village your own little "space" in the cyber universe and therefore you keep it TOP SECRET?

Personally, it's a little of both for me. I've suggested it to a few relatives, selective friends etc.

I've mentioned it to many & they are happy I love being here but they don't take time to check it out. I told them sure it's about the frugal this and that but there are many other parts that make up the village like our wonderful community that discusses and shares opinions and insight on numerous subjects.
Oh well, you can lead friends and family to fv but you can't make 'em read and post. They don't know what they are missing.

In the past I would mention FV specifically, like go to Frugal Village | Frugal Living by Sara Noel. I think one person actually visited but didn't stay. Now I just refer to it as the frugal website I hang out on.

I figure if they are interested in learning more they will ask.

I tell some people who seem really interested in changing their unfrugal ways. But most never bother to look up the site. I find that most of the friends, relatives, etc that I hear complaining about finances, grocery prices and making it from pay check to pay check really don't want to make an effort. They want someone to do it all for them, or for the finances to magically get better on their own.

I started coming to FV about a year and a half ago. The very first thing I did was to make hm laundry detergent. I thought if I started with something simple I could go on from there.

And now we have one small debt to pay off and we are debt free except for our mortgage!!!!! Thanks to all of you!!!!!

I would look at peoples siggys and think - I'll never get there. It's too hard. It will take too long. But you guys gave out so much encouragement and so many great ideas.

Thank you so much Frugal Village friends.

I wonder if folks you asked questions about, came and read the thread about them.

If so, were they grateful, or did they get mad?

I have recommended the site to people... 2 actually joined, but I don't see them around.

This is my 'safety zone' and what I post here I don't want included in the next hen circle... luckily, I don't think anyone I have told is that kind of person.

~I don't preach my frugality so I don't get to hand out advice too often. But I've recommended FV a lot over the years I've been here. My mom joined and is active here. We discuss financial stuff and FV when we see each other.
Since everyone close to me knows that I'm always on FV, I'm very careful about what I say about family and friends.
