Unhappy wow and emotinally exhasuting and finacially expensive week

This past week was a very expensive week. Couple that with it being emotionally exhausting and you have a week that felt much longer than a week.

Part was poor planning and part was chance.
    1) enrolled children for school $$$

    2) trip to my mom's for a weekend $$Gas money was all we had to pay for (she paid for food and fun) It is always exhausting physically and emotionally when we visit. It takes the children about a week to settle back to an even keel. I think it might take me a bit longer to get back to normal

    3) Vacation Bible School started right upon our return it is late in the evening so that affected our wind down time. They also needed another adult to help and I agreed.

    4) went to get final pay off note for Cello. Found it it wasn't all paid off. They hadn't taken out the full amount they were suppose to each month 40 instead of 46. So I paid that off.

    5) Truck had acted up on trip to mom's so we took it into the shop $$ for oil change etc We are a one car family so we ( the kids and I) sat their for over an hour and half. The shop found some other things that needed taken care of so $$$ and another wait the next day 3 hours this time

    6) Annual check up for Buddy $$ our insurance changes Monday so the doc wanted to get a IVP done of Buddy before that change $$ One you have to do with over night fasting and no breakfast. So we did that the next day
    7) annual family eye doc appointment all four of us had check ups. luckily only one needed new lenses (no one got new frames)

We did eat out a bit more than usual. bribes/ rewards and some out of time needs

Hubby was teasing that he shouldn't let me out of the house as one day we spent over 700 on the above. Probably over 1,000 or more over the week.

Yes, it was poor planning on my part to have to schedule all those appointment at one time. Add that to an emotional exhausting week and you get a very very long week

I'm glad that very long week is over.

Next week will be financially less expensive (I hope) and I hope that it is less emotionally exhausting.

Imagine, I'm exhausted just reading all that you went through!!
Thank goodness that's all over. Take care; breathe deeply and charge ahead at any speed you want!!

I think if it had just been the scheduled appointments or the emotional aspect it would of been easily handled. The two together and well...

I think there might also be a physical exhaustion add in to that I hadn't thought about. The children going to be later than normal due to VBS. I am also waking up at night, that is part of something we need to do with Buddy right now. The constant waking up to check on him and or help him is tiring. I hadn't thought about that.

I completely forgot about that the toilet stopped working this week too.

The tank just wouldn't fill with water so it couldn't be flushed and it was really in need of flushing KWIM. Hubby came home early from work to fix it. Found the part needed downstairs but it was a old part and it made the tank continually fill ( the opposite problem) so he quickly had to head to the hardware store before it closed and buy a new part.

I'm glad you could fix it because it truly stumped me.

I know what you mean about the financially exhausting week. We spent at least $300 on Wednesday (we meaning me, I have no idea how much DH spent when I was in with DS11 at his orthodontic appointment) in one place, $70 for the orthodontist and $15 on lunch for me and DS11. The Sunday prior, we spent at least $200 at Ikea. Oy.

It's about to get a whole lot worse for us. We're already starting to price out materials to fix the house up for selling and it's an astounding number.

    $25,000.

Now I know a lot of people may think that that's way too much, but here's the list of things we found out that we have to fix:

New furnace (the old furnace came with the house and the house was built in 1983)
Renovation of both bathrooms (water damage and updating)
Updating the appliances (this includes putting in a new range hood)
New roof (the old one is peeling and being split apart by hail storms)
Paint and baseboards, drywall and texture paint
    Accessories

I think my financially exhaustive week will turn into an exhaustive three months.

i finally gave in and bought myself a new desktop mine is from 2002 and will probably die soon its shown early signs of it -
next month starts tuitions for the younger two kids school so figured i'd better do it now or never .

will use this one for the younger kids who dont have their own laptops to use - as long as it still stands ( kids puter was a e-machine that died a few months back and i held off on replacing it figured since older two had own laptops - middle son has one he has to rent thru his school - the younger 2 and i could share )

got a good deal on a basic model dell- i dont need alot of bells and whistles and i have been happy with this dell . the memory is so much more than what i had before too .
on a bright note i paid in cash ( well put it on my CC and deposited my check today and paying it off tomorrow when ck clears or monday if it doesnt show it cleared tomorrow .

I guess better to be a planned expense this way then have it die on me when i am not expecting it - esp since i need to have it for work since i dont go into the office but 1x a week to drop things off pick them up and have to access work email daily .

put a litte kink in my being gazelle like about paying things off though.

tomorrows kink is paying for dd's contacts we need to order now that the dr has her in a new RX.

I feel you!! I had just signed a contract to put new carpet in the downstairs (previous homeowners had a very naughty doggie) and the AC went out, I needed $400 worth of brakes and suspension work on the car, and DS came home from a missions trip with a fractured tooth. Oy indeed!
Oh, an by August 25th DS's tuition is due, and I am starting grad school. Double oy!

It has settled down here a bit, just a bit though. For the last several months we were in finish the kitchen and all these other little projects mode because we were hosting an engagement party for my son and his fiance for about 30 people. That is over now and this week my dd is getting ready to start her senior year. So there is money going out for that. Pictures, parking pass, drivers liscense, new clothes, car insurance.

At least we don't have any other pressing home projects on the horizon. I would like to redo the hall bath before the wedding next year, I don't see that happening though.
