Sometimes I'm better than others. Mine is a toss up between the grocery store doing "deals" which I find is fun and Walmart in the kitchen section. Last 2 trips to Walmart was a baking pans set and last one was a really nice paring knife. Someone ( no one will admit who ) lost my other one and I really needed it. My other ones just don't cut it ( pun intended ). My other bake set has the teflon peeling off and I was told that's dangerous.

I'd have to say Walmart and any grocerys...love to add to the stockpile!

For me it's Target (their clothes, accessories, and stationery sections are HUGE temptations full of fabulous eye candy for me!), Sam's Club (I am working on adjusting my thought process to understand that a 4 lb. bag of chocolate chips for $7 may not be the best deal in town!), Hobby Lobby and Michaels (TOO much fun scrapbooking stuff that is just TOO tempting!).
    May Goals:
Only $300 for groceries this month - $206/$300
    Monthly coupon/valued customer savings = $14.08
    No wasted food!
    Stick to budget!
    Track spending DAILY
    Get checkbook balanced
    Save $200 toward EF: $85/$200

2012 FV Challenges: Try New Recipes Challenge: 22/52, Menu Planning Challenge: 21/52, Grocery Reduction Budget Challenge, Change Jar Challenge: $27.81 as of 1-14-12, Lose A Pound A Week Challenge: 3/48, No Wasted Food Challenge

    2012 Goals

    1. To pay off CC (only $917.15 left!) and never again charge more than I can pay off each month.
    2. Snowball the CC payment into Sears Credit Card bill (no interest) and get it paid off ASAP.
    3. Snowball the CC and Sears card payments into hospital bill (due w/ Baby #2 via C-section in mid-January). Pay that off ASAP.4. Snowball payments into DH's student loan (as of 12/4/11 there's still $4770.84 remaining). Pay off by 12/31/12.
    5. Keep our grocery budget to $300 each month.
    6. Use Dave Ramsey's budget sheet and get on track with this each pay period.
    7. Get and keep checkbook balanced and keep an eye (weekly if not daily) on our e-statements.
    8. Get savings account up to $8,000 (incl. emergency fund)
    9. Make 2 Christmas gifts per month: 0/24.
    10. Get our home organized: use a receipt book, keep my coupon organizer in check, have a touch-once policy for paper (touch once and then file or toss).
    11. Achieve "give or get" goal of $1500 for the board I serve on by 9/30/12.
    12. Taxes filed by March 17.

I stay away from Colonial Gardens (local shop) except for Yankee Candle clearance time. Way too dangerous otherwise. I can get my Yankee Candle fix when they clearance the votives and tarts 4 for a $1! I'll buy a lunch bag size full, keeps me happy till next clearance.

I stay away from their after Christmas sale too, I just might be tempted to buy all those fabulous 50% off ornaments. They decorate lots of trees, whatever does not sell off the trees before Christmas get clearanced. Heck, they decorate everything, and it's fabulous and all clearanced after Christmas! I stay far away, the romance of Christmas will just sweep me in and I'll end up standing at the check out with my basket brimming.

    Other that that I'd say;

I stay out of Smith and Hawkin for obvious reasons.

I stay out of Restoration Hardware for obvious reasons.

I stay out of Origins, because if I go in there I will walk out with something from their Ginger fragrance line. Love that stuff!!!

I stay out of Bare Escentuals, oh boy do I stay out of there!

So, I guess I steer clear of King of Prussia Mall!

After years of almost none, all of a sudden we've got all these great thrift stores. How do you walk away from the bargains? I'm even finding craft items lately, and crafting is something I want to get back into....UGH!

My others are Kohls.....I can't pass up free. This past Wednesday's paper had $10 off of $10 coupons. I could only find 2 left. But $20 of free? LOVE it!!

Then there's the on-line stores... I love the Etsy shops, and JCP has awesome "Wednesday Deals", and on Mondays they post their New Markdowns.

And I almost forgot about Lowes, and Kirklands, and Old Time Pottery, and Tuesday Morning, and, and, and, I just need to stay home....PERIOD! lol!!

JC Penney's is my problem store. I always seem to get sucked in by the sales. How many t-shirts and sweaters does one woman need?

Joann's could be trouble for me if I didn't HATE the local one with a fiery passion. Really, the customer "service" there is appallingly bad and it's actually helped my budget. So, I guess that's a silver lining.

I have tricks that I use to limit my shopping, but there are some stores that I still can't go into or I go into with only cash. Ollies is one of them. I can spend hours in that store and buy all sorts of stuff that I didn't need.

I usually try to make it so that I can only spend minutes in Wal-mart or I will kill my budget and debt-plans.

My biggest issue by far is the grocery store. I can't pass up a deal on meats or produce, if its marked down and I remotely like it I will buy it. I now only let myself go once a week and strive for once every other week.

I pretty much only buy books at thrift stores now and don't let myself get anything else. I just don't have the room anymore.

I stopped browsing in stores, reading magazines, and looking at store circulars. Why be reminded of things I can not buy and do not even need? Without all the ads and constant reminders, I am able to focus on enjoying what I already own.

But sometimes I still feel the need to go "shopping" so I will bring my coffee to the bookstore and read free books!

Tuesday Morning has a lot of nice things -- it's one of those stores where I am tempted to buy. Sometimes the deals are good; sometimes not. They have lots of seasonal decorative items, specialty foods, ceramics, cookware, suitcases, comforters, books, toys, kitchen utensils, dog toys, dog clothes and beds, rugs, etc. I have found some unique toys and books at good prices.

I live so far from shopping that I rarely have time to visit the more tempting stores. I find Hobby Lobby tempting, as well as Barnes and Noble -- especially the British television section!

Mine is not such stores as Walmart, etc., I used to have an issue with purchasing things from QVC and HSN. Bad, bad, bad me.

Thank goodness I finally "Broke" myself from them. I now have far more self control with them, mainly because I don't have "My Own Money" anymore to spend.

It used to be Walmart & the book store but now...Walmart doesn't have as big of a draw as it used to. Great for walking around and looking to pass time but I usually only buy what I need. The bookstore was my fave to be in but when I bought a book there with a reduced price sticker and then went online to their site to look at the sequel - both books combined were cheaper then the one I had bought reduced and with shipping! From now on, I buy books online - when needed.

I think my new fave store where I drop $$$ is the natural organic health food stores. They have so many things I have not seen before and would love to try - from products to food. Its a treat to go there.

I boycott The Brick furniture store though - as in dont even ask me to go in. They have great deals and decent furniture but their warranty service suck goat bits. They purposely run you around until the day before your warranty expires and then pretend to send a tech out. Grr!! *shakes fist*

For me, it's clothing stores. I don't need any more clothes and could go years without buying anything. Total loss of interest. It used to be Hobby Lobby, but after purging the house of the junk I've acquired over the years, the thought of buying more stuff in no longer appealing. My new hobby is seeing how cheap I can get things that I really do need.....and a few techie things I probably don't.
