It used to be very popular here..........Does it still use the phone line for the internet? The speed would be pretty slow.
It started and got very popular about the same time that Juno started. They both used to be free.

I know someone who has it. I think all she does on the internet though is search for info or e-mail. But she seems to like it.

I used the free version quite a while ago. It was incredibly slow, used dial up, and had ads around the borders. But, it did the job. I believe my father in law uses a paid version, which is basically the same, but doesn't have the ads.

My sister in California uses it. I did many years ago when i had dial up. Since we live so far out. I can't get it.

We had it and when you went to a website to play games it didn't register that you were online and it would kick you off. I don't know if it would be the same when you are in here for a period of time. I would not recommend them

That sounds similar to what Juno started doing WHEN they started going to the paid versions. In this case, it wasn't that Juno didn't 'recognize you'.........the paid people had priority and they would bump you off if you were on the free version. (they wanted you to pay....NOT!) VERY SLOW!!!!
I would not recommend either one of them.....IF speed is any concern.
I still have a Juno mailbox...........and retrieve my mail about once a week. But I get some 'good junk' mail there (read coupons)..........and didn't want to bother changing it.

Thanks for the responses!
I basically am the the only one in the house that uses the computer, with the exception of my adult son going on very occasional. As for me, the only things that I do on the computer is my e-mail, my favorite forums, check our bank accounts, and browse around on sites.
Right now we pay about $50. month through Qwest. I am looking for any ways to cut our expenses.

Don't know who you have available for your area....but some of ours are running specials right now. We are FINALLY getting some more people in here to give Comcast some competition!!
Check your phone book and start calling..........Cricket is one that is running a special here.
Good luck.......would be curious to know what you find out.

As far as I know Net Zero is just dial-up internet service. They may have other high speed service, I'm not sure.
We just have dial up b/c we don't want to pay $40+ for high speed internet. I looked around a bit for dial up providers and I went with copper.net. It has been fine so far. We are paying $14/mo for their "high speed" service but I'm going to knock it back down to their regular service which is $10/mo or $7/mo.

We signed up for the service, but had problems with installation. I cancelled, but Netzero continued to bill my credit card. I ended up having to write a letter to my cc company and went thru the dispute process. Wouldn't recommend Netzero!

It was ok. I had no complaints. However after now having dsl it would be hard to go back.~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

Net Zero is pretty good. I get my internet for free though, so I don't even mess with paying for internet any more. I do it through a local hotspot. There's tons of them around.
I used some routers I even found at garage sales to do it. hehe. So my entire free internet connection for the last 8 years has cost me a grand total of $10

We just got Qwest DSL. They are running a promo right now of $14.99/mo for 6 months. One of the techs I talked to at Qwest told me to call when that 6 months is up and ask if they can put me on the next promo plan. Maybe if you give them a call they can give you a better price, at least for a while.
I just cancelled my dial up internet with copper.net and I got excellent customer service. They even prorated my November payment and refunded me.
