I used to do it. I found I just wasn't keeping up with it, so I stopped. When I did it, it was a subscription and you had to pay for it.

I took advantage of the 1 month free she offers but honestly didn't feel like it was worth the money to join. I found other free sites online that offered similar help.

If she is still doing the free trial period thing then I would say check it out to see for yourself, just be sure that if you decide not to continue (you have to list a form of payment when you sign up) that you cancel your subscription before the trial period is up!

I am a mod of a free board, that does the same but 10x better in my opinion and again free.

Funny thing is I do the Kroger store match ups and paid for the service , to see what it was like. I get my ad out days before they release the one for my area for the paid one...lol In technical mega coupon terms that means the ad would be out for days before the paid board would send the "service " to me and others in my area could wipe the shelves before I ever even had the match ups.

If you want the name of the board I can pm not sure I can put here. Check out the paid one if you want, but research there are great free ones out there doing the same. To be honest you will have to do some work with the free ones, making your lists etc but most Mods do a tremendous job and all the members contribute so you will get lots of help, tips and coupon trains. I don't coupon so much as bulk buy, cook from scratch but if it is things that fit in my health needs I buy mega amounts. Just bought 45 bottles of hot sauce for my wings as they have no preservatives, no msg , or high corn fructose and will last me a year. Yes I had coupons for every bottle....lol

Me personally, I wouldn't pay for something I can get for free...
Like some of the others have posted, you can find the same service for free, if you search around on the internet.

Tried the free version and found I could the work myself. I saw no need for it and I certainly wasn't going to pay for it. Even though I cancelled I STILL get emails on a regularly basis trying to get me to rejoin.

I was a member for about a year. While there may be sites out there like this I think the differnce is she gives you the sale on the rock bottom price of the item, and unadvertised sales as well. Most sites don't do this, they give you what is on sale and match it with a coupon. She also will tell you when to use a coupon. I learned quite a bit from her site and had quite a stockpile really quick. I learned that I can pretty much do it on my own also. I only have certain stores I buy from and I can get the sale ads and match up my coupons. I can even get unadvertised sales from some sites like RiteAid. I'd say give the trial month a try, at least you may learn about the 12 week cycle and when the best time is to buy certain items.
Happy Mama not pointing at you, only at the sites I have come across that claim they do the same thing but don't.

    Great post.

It's my first time hearing about the Grocery Game. I agree that the site is a bit confusing but it looks interesting enough to try the trial. LOL. I'm new to couponing so I have a lot to learn.

@ HappyMama -- I can't PM you since I don't have the required post counts. Do you mind PMing me with the site info? I'd really appreciate it.

seriously I wouldn't think it would be a no-no to list a few good coupon sites, since this is FV afterall.

a few of my favs are:

    southernsavers.com (my first choice)

    couponmom.com

    mojosavings.com (it's a blog, but it's a good one)

    stockpilingmoms.com

those are just a few - remember, google is your friend!

Thanks for the sites you listed.

I've done the Grocery Game in the past. It can be worth it to pay for. It is very easy to use and doesn't require you to do a lot of work. You don't have to scour over message boards or sort through the things that don't apply to you (double coupons)

I didn't like that I could only shop Sun, Mon and Tues. Sometimes the match-ups didn't work. The information is out there for free, but you have to do a bit of work to get it.

I got to the point that I remember what a good price is and I only cut coupons for products that I use. We have enough toothpaste for the next year, so I don't even look at toothpaste coupons right now.

She has a book out. Go see if your library has it (mine does) and then you will understand the theory behind the details. It's worth reading.

The reason I don't recommend Grocery Game or the other coupon databases for my readers is the newspaper coupon markets and grocery districts overlap too much in my community. I am along the Ohio-Michigan border. One could easily use an Ohio coupon at a Michigan store, or vice versa, and that throws those zip code databases way off. I use and teach a DIY system instead -- hey, one may as well take advantage of the local geography.

That being said, I have explained the GG system to my readers and listed which stores in my area can be found on her database.
