Question How long could you live off your pantry?

It might surprise you. Not only did I have a stocked pantry but also had stockpiled a good supply of food items, enough I thought for 6 months.

We've been eating off it for some time now but I certainly didn't last the 6 months.

    How about you?

I must say - not long at all!!!
The kids just cleaned me out- giving to the food drive.
I don't mind - glad someone will not go hungry - instead of it sitting on the shelf.
Will have to replenish after the holiday.

Well, if I completely stopped buying things for the pantry (and just bought perishables) I would say 3 months? I REALLY want to test this out starting with new years

I would guess 6-7 months-Meals would get pretty boring, but we would eat.

If there was a crises, we could stretch it longer. Our only problem would be that we need electricity for water as our well is electric and for the freezer. though lately, we could just stick the food outside and it would be fine LOL Brrrrrrr

I figure four months with variety, six months or more with little variety (but no starvation!)
