Question How much does public transpotation cost where you live?

This question popped into my head on another thread so I checked out the cost of public transportation here.

It has many different rates like a one way pass for $1.25.
a day pass unlimited rides that day $5.
A family pass unlimited rides for the whole family up to 5 people same house for $39 a month

rides to the health department are free

What are the costs on public transportation in your area?

    Is public transportation even available?

It is interesting that yours is from station to station. From the price I'm guessing they are miles and miles apart.
I live in a smaller place so the schedule looks more like this

Walmart, 4th and cross street, Aldi's, health department etc
Names of places. each place has schedule posted on when the bus will be back to their place again. Children over 6 are charged a fare here. They can not ride alone until 12 years of age unless permission has been obtained first.

They call it curb to curb service. You get delivered to the front door of the place on the schedule.

I know my friend that is blind calls and makes an appointment like say swimming lesson everyday from X to X. And they come and pick her up. I'm not sure what that costs her.

Yes, Things are spread out here. You often take a bus to go somewhere and you could have several zones before you even reach a station.

They have Para Transit here, I believe the fee is $4

I'm in Denmark. If I buy a 10 clip pass to/from work, it's about $12 US round trip to/from work, about 20 km. City bus is about $3 one way. I ride my bike a lot and beg rides often.

Our bus service is limited.....and not very user friendly.

However, I need to go to Seattle and meet my parents at the hospital. I can catch the bus at the airport and take the one transfer, one hour ride for 4.75....Awsome!!!

$2.25 one way, 10 ride tickets for $18, or $70 for a monthly pass.

No such thing as day passes or family rates; monthly passes are for individuals and non-transferable.

Discount for students on monthly passes only, cash and ticket rates are the same.

Children & Seniors are $1.50 per ride, $13 for 10 tickets, or $52 a month.

Extra .50 per ride for the express bus, extra $1.00 for the out of town express.

Transfers are free, going in the same direction - which is good, since it usually takes about three to get anywhere.

The bus fees here vary. One-way is $2.85 for adults, $2.75 for kids 6 to 12 and kids under 6 are free. If you purchase a day pass, kids under age 12 are free. But the day pass is almost $9. The system here is definitely less fantastic than Calgary, but it's doable.

I forgot to mention that if I buy single fare, not the 10 clip pass, the fare is about double. It just awful when I'm out of clips and don't have enough on me for the 10 clip. It's cash only. Ugh!

It's not a very economical way to travel, but with a tax of 180% of a car's value just to register, it seems a bargain to the alternative.

I don't use our public transportation. They seem to have a bad habit of hitting pedestrians.
