Question What's your favorite frugal treasure?

I love my library card and would be lost without it. I go on such wonderful adventures and learn so much. It's definitely the good plastic to have in your wallet.

hmmm.... while I'm in total agreement about my library card, I'd also have to add ......

    my coupon file

oh, and my handy dandy drying rack for ziploc baggies. ((It's one of those old wooden accordian style peg hook thingies that you can hang on the wall; I lay it, stretched out on a towel on the kitchen counter))

Tupperware or other food storage items like washed-out butter tubs, glass jars, etc. I love that they can be used for anything and everything around the house.

    Minnesota state park sticker.

Our pop up camper. It may not seem frugal, but it allows us to travel and stay at great places in comfort while saving tons of money.

Our seven shelter pets. Their fees were a huge bargain vs. getting a 'free' puppy or kitten and then having to pay the vet bills for spay/neuter, shots, etc. The shelter even gave us a great deal on microchipping.

My DIY abilities and the mechanical aptitude and other skills that I inherited or learned from my parents, others, books, and the internet. That's saved me more money than I can count.

my coupon binder, my kids even named it "Lucy" and let it ride in the backseat of the van

    library cards

and my stockpile...don't know if the stockpile counts, but it's been a lifesaver and it was very frugal since I only pay full price for flour and sugar

My sewing machine mostly. It allows me to make everything I don't want to buy and reuse things I was gonna get rid of.

Ah, yes, how could I forget my five sewing machines? Not only saved me money, but made me money when I had my own sewing businesses and also did contract sewing for other businesses. They've paid for themselves many times over.

    So many good ones

I agree with the library card not only book cd videos activities but here with a library card the children can get on line and have a certified teacher help with homework for free. Will definitely come in handy with the more advanced math in high school. It has been a while since I did Algebra II and I remember being happy I received a D+.

I agree with the sewing machine. It has helped make "free" doll clothes out of used clothing. It has mended things and made shorts out of hole in the knee jeans.

I want to add - my frugal treasure is Aldi's. I had added more fruits and veggies to our diet then I could afford before.
Today I got a fresh whole pineapple of 99 cents, very nice looking strawberries for $1.69 a pound, apples 43 cents a pound, naval oranges .37 a pound
The other store had navel oranges of .37 cents each and apples over $2 a pound.

My pressure cooker, all the way! Saves water, electricity and time, and allows me to cook cheaper foods easily (dry chickpeas cooked in 8 minutes).

Not original, but I have to agree with the library card. I have been in love with libraries ever since my mom first took me when I was a child. I still get a little thrill walking through the front door knowing that I can have *anything* inside. Yep, I'm a geek!

I also treasure my cooking ability. I'm not an expert by any means, but I am competent and confident enough to try anything. Priceless.

My newest frugal treasure would be my Creaclip. I can cut my own hair and it looks great! Other then that, I'd say my Wok and Real Chinese cookbooks. I can make food just as good, or better in some cases as the Chinese restaurants around here.

Of course there's my dehydrator, I love that magic machine! And my electric teapot, saves me tons to not heat up a burner several times a day. Oh, and my crockpot. How would I live without my crockpot?! My rice cooker too, steams rice and vegetables at the same time. That saves electric and extra dishes to wash.

Gosh, there's lots of favorites. I can't just pick one.
