Smile Made Little Miss some lip gloss for pennies

I melted a bit of Criso and added some extract. Cost very little and was made with things in the cupboard.

I put it in this pretty container from my youth

Vintage AVON 1970's Collectible NESTLE by SassyAshleeBoutique

It has two spots for lip gloss so I made one vanilla and one vanilla mint.

This is great because Little Miss has sensitive skin. She can't use Vaseline and has a hard time finding lip gloss that works for chapped lips.

This might work as Crisco is suggested for some for extra dry skin and eczema Crisco For Eczema | LIVESTRONG.COM

I tried some after I made it. I like it. It smelled so good and it made my lips soft.
We will see what Little Miss thinks when she gets home.

If it is a go I have seen other things to add, like cake glitter that will be fun.

I used to make similar ones for my dd -- I'd melt Crisco and add Kool-Aid packets to it, for a hint of color and flavor.

I'm impressed that you kept that container that long. I used to have some pretty cool retro ones that slide too. What a sweet thing to do.

That was one of the other recipe I saw that I want to try. Did it color the lip much?

Little Miss says it makes her lips soft at least temporarrily.

She has a some major chapped lips and she reported one application didn't cure it (lol) but it did help make them soft at least for a while. I think her chapped lips look better.

I think this recipe maybe a a keeper.

When I was in college, Crisco was how the actors removed their stage makeup. Cheap, easy to find, no "sexism," the guys could use it without a problem too.

It didn't color the lips at all, just gave color to the lip gloss.

OMG, I had the egg one and remember it so well. Also the rootbeer and strawberry one. Now I wish I kept them! Didn't think of that back then. My mom seemed to save everything, but not those! lol
