Smile Hubby acyually wanted to go shopping for clothes + sale = happy me

    Background
Hubby doesn't like to go shopping for clothes for him. He only does it when they are very well worn out. He has specific things he wants/likes.
No iron docker style pants, No iron button down collar shirts, Gold Toe Dress socks the ones with cotton in them not the all nylon ones, similar socks but in a heavy weight for winter, certain cut of underwear, and v neck undershirts. He also likes good long lasting comfortable shoes as he walks to work everyday. He also likes leather ones so he can polish them.

We only have one store in town where you can get dress men's clothes. (besides walmart lol) that is a small Jc penny store.

Generally when he wants to get new clothes they are out of his size unless they just put out new ones that are full price.

The Shopping Day and Good Deals
Saturday, He wants to go shopping. We head to Jc penny with some $10 of coupons ( 1 $10 of $10 I received in the mail 1 $10 of $25 I received in the mail and a $10 of 10 my mom was going to use to buy us something but didn't have the chance so she told us to go buy something with it)

Found his favorite Winter weight socks clearance 50% off
Took two sets one for his brown shoes one for his black shoes ( total of six socks) used my $10 of $10 or more and paid $1.98 plus tax Receipt says I saved $22.02

Found his favorite pair of pants for $14.99 instead of the originally $40. They had two in khaki and one in navy blue and one in Black. One very happy Hubby, because we generally don't find his size as it seems to be popular. I took one pair to the registrar and used my $10 of $10 and paid $4.99 plus tax for the pants the receipt says I saved $35.01

Found his favorite not winter weight socks on clearance 50% off in black and variety of brown/khaki mix

Found a button down collar shirt he liked in the clearance section 70% off

Hubby took the clearance shirt, two sets of the clearance socks , and the other $14.99 pants to the registrar and used the $10 of $25 or more.

Then we headed to walmart and bought value packs of underwear and undershirts. value pack pricing that is all no big deal there.

Then he finished up online buying some shirts and two pair of good leather shoes. The shirts were about 25% off and the two leather shoes brown and black were only 10% off but he a used a free shipping code on the whole online shopping trip.

With all the great deals mixed with the not so great deals we saved 56% so we only paid 44% of what it would have been full price.

So not only am I glad we were able to get Hubby to get a whole new wardrobe he desperately needed them. But what he needed was actually available a definitely a plus and they were not retail price but sale price and I had coupons super bonus.

Yes Hubby wanting to get new clothes + sale = Happy me.

It was a great shopping day!

I'm glad we only have to do that every couple of years. Shoes only every 5 to 6 years.

He buys a pair tennis shoes when needed. He only wears them at home and on the weekends and vacations. Saves the old pair for mowing the lawns. Last pair he bought was before we moved where we are now 7 years ago. Still look nice. Those were a very good buy.

The dress shoes, his everyday shoes, The ones he walks to and from work in everyday. The last ones brown and black were given to him for a Birthday present from his mom. She gave them to him about 6 years ago. He replaced them yesterday when we shopped. He bought a brown pair and a black pair to replace them.

He use to buy dress shoes less then that when soles were leather and he could take them to a cobbler to resole them. He wears out the soles first since he walks so much in them. At least a mile daily.

He also has a pair of walmart waterproof hiking boots that he wears in the snow on his way to work. He only has one of those and has had them six years.

I forgot he also has a pair of cowboy boots that he bought when we were married 17 years ago. They still look nice. He uses the leather conditioner on them.
