my frugal batteries are recharging - I'm not as weary with frugal as I was
I recharged my batteries

Instead of total depravity we got what we needed. Hubby's new clothes. Shopped as best as we could staying on budget and getting great sales. It made me feel good that Hubby understands the sale and coupon combine thing now.
Looked for a new way to get a treat. Walking to get a soda or icee discovered the convenience store near us has those on sale for summer they are less than the half price time at the drive in that everyone says has the cheapest drinks.
Worked on a new frugal skill cooking basics from scratch. very rewarding. Buddy taught me some recipes he learned at school.
Trying not to borrow worry from tomorrow. It might not be necessary. I had put off going to get the oil changed because the car had to be put in neutral to start. worried about what they would say and how much $$$ it was going to take. worried about this for months. took the car in today for its oil change and tire rotation, three month late. Cost $47 and the said everything looks okay. The car has not had to be put in neutral to start since we got the oil change. go figure ( hope I didn't jink it) I worried for months about nothing.
I was worried about the air conditioner. It had broke. The last guy who came out said it would have to be replaced next time. A different guy came out this time and fixed it didn't even mention needing to replace it. Definitely not going to worry about tomorrow. Save for a rainy day sure but worry about the rain no way.
Yes my frugal batteries have been recharged.

Congratulations on getting your car taken care of - worrying doesn't get any of us anywhere - and yet we all do it to one degree or another. Mahalo for sharing so we can learn with you!!

Great job, Imagine!
How about making some pudding pops for a treat at home?
I like treats, having them around the house helps keep me home and helps me to pass by the Dairy Queens and shakes from fast food places on my way back from an errand.LDR

My mother always used to tell me .....more than half the stuff you worry about never even happens.
I am grateful for her words and I am grateful that I am not a "worrier" by nature.Judy

Love where thoughts are going. Sometimes when I do find myself worrying, I sit down and remind myself that I can give my worries up to God - and I do - and it works.
We all need and deserve to recharge our batteries from time to time - I just need to remind mysself so I don't burn out!!Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.

Now is the time I purchase one large bottle of root beer. Because it is rootbeer float time. Another great treat in the summer time.
I always wait until ice cream in on sale and purchase it then.
Also, if you have any cans of fruit you can make fruit salad, puree and freeze for a granata, make a fruit smoothie, freeze in ice cubes for a drink, puree for a sauce with cake.
Ok, now I am hungry!

Oooh...you had to mention root beer. There's nothing like homemade root beer! We make it every summer. But we're going away this week for a month. No homemade root beer.
Imagine, wtg! You got a lot of things settled and thought through. I love hearing the good stories as well as the bad ones on FV. I learn from all of them. So glad you're doing better.
