Default Do you price match at Walmart???

Today I did several price matches at Walmart from a store that is 15 miles from Walmart. Saved the gas and still got the savings. Anyone else ever do that?

My Walmart even matched Safeway's 2.99/lb cherries when Safeway had them on "sale with card" a couple of weeks ago. Pretty excited since prices are 5.98/lb everywhere around here.

I've done it once, with some difficulty. One CSR said it couldn't be done, a department manager said it could.

That's the type of thing I am afraid of with the WM here. None of them are particularly coupon friendly and I fear that would carry over to price matching.

I price match at wal mart. Our cashiers know the sales prices often and they know I am honest I generally do not even have to have the ad. Our wal mart generally is lower or has already lowered it's price.

The problem I have with price matching is that it is keeping the money from going to the other stores in town and we need those stores for wal mart to keep it's low prices it needs competition

What I have not tried is using compedators coupons at wal mart I think their policy says it is possible

I think its always good to do your own price checking--I recently bought vanilla extract for 8.00 at Foodlion here in Richmond--that's ridiculous !!

    I so agree

I was looking for dill weed for a cucumber salad.

Bought a .5 oz one at Walmart for $5.97
Found the name brand at the grocery store for .2 oz for $5.44 but their brand of the dill weed was .2 oz for $1.09

I took the one to Walmart back for a refund next time I went.

Now that grocery store is the first place I will look for spices.

That grocery store also puts their spices on sale for 50% off once or twice a year so when they do I know I will be heading over their quickly.

WM has their coupon/competitor ad policy on their website. Everyone should print it out and put it in their coupon binder & take it with them when they coupon or comp at WM since half of the employees don't know the rules themselves.

I agree but the stores I price match are an extra 20miles one way in one direction and 30+ miles in another. The stores in town, I usually don't price match.

I've price matched at Walmart twice. Both times the person at the checkout was so clueless as to what the procedure is they had to call the cashier supervisor to come and do it for them.
The only time I will try to price match again is if the original store is completely sold out of the product I am trying to buy. I don't have the issue of the stores being too far, most are within a 5 minute drive.

I would do it if I were going to walmart anyway and didn't want to make an extra stop to the other store just to pick up a few sale items. However , I think walmart gets enough business and I prefer to spend my money elsewhere.
I'm not some big time anti walmart protester, I just try to spend as little as possible there.

I agree. I've got my copy in my coupon binder that I ALWAYS take to the grocery store.
I price match at WalMart due to the high price of gas...I really don't like the store, but I DO like saving the gas. I've also been able to get them to match their competitor's coupons as long as you don't have to use a loyalty card...They called that a "gimmick"... whatever...

I have only done it once and that was last night at a neighborhood store. All the stores around here had some really good sales going on for the holiday weekend. Didnt feel like spending the time to drive to all the stores for there add items. There were a few items that they couldnt do. But gave us those items that were on sale at a different price.Which I thought that was nice of them.
