Default Lower Limits on Sale Items?

This week I noticed a limit of 5 shredded cheese ($1 each) at Kroger. They had this same sale a few months back with a limit of 10. I wonder if we will see more of these types of limits?

I am noticing that most coupons are limited to 4 of each coupon, but no limit on the number of units I can purchase.

I thank this is all thanks to that d*&^ show!

Our local discount grocery had soda and whole chickens on sale. The limit for soda was 10 per customer, the limit on chickens was 2 per family. I really wish it had been the other way around

Yup, it's due to the show and the shelf clearers it's producing. It's not right to buy 79 toothbrushes, clearing out the bin, so no one else can have one, EVEN when you get it for 'free'. Since some folks don't have the common sense or decency to avoid this, stores are imposing stricter limits. Sort of like when you tell the kids they can have 2 pieces of candy, because if you didn't put a reasonable limit on it, they'd eat 9. A real shame- I wouldn't care if someone bought more than 5, but since some 'have to' buy 42 all at once, the store is telling us all how many we can get.

Oh yeah, I think so. Also heard that many stores were limiting the
    BOGO coupons too.

I noticed this week that Albertson's is doing something similar to Rite Aid 'up reward'.........which I don't like.
I don't want to have to come back to the store to get my savings...

Albertsons has also stopped giving "doublers" at Customer service so the only way to get them is to buy a paper.

I'm noticing 'limits' on school supplies...low ones! Like 2 or 4! Uh, what if someone has a bunch of kids? Or one whatever it is doesn't even last half the school year, so each person needs 2? I dunno...

That show ruined it for us common sense couponers, I never bought more than 3-4 of like items. Greedy people always ruin it for everyone else.

I have noticed it as well. I also noticed that Target has limited it's printable coupons to ONE. Two I understand but one seams a bit silly to me, ruins my game plan at Publix.

I agree, I'm in Canada and that show has made it hard for us too!

I'll admit to being a couponer and a stockpiler(not a hoarder). This is my hedge if we ever have a layoff. I have a nice shelf full of non perishables. When it's on sale, I'll get a couple of the item 2 or 3 times that week from different stores.

There are a few items I can get free right now due some fab coupons out, so I build up a supply by getting 2 at a time when I do my weekly shop. So I'm not affecting the general population at all.

But that show with all the shelf clearing, it's happening here too If there is a good sale that will have a free item with coupons, you MUST be there when the store opens the first day of the sale, or you likely won't get any. The amount of fraudulant coupons out there is horrid, many stores no longer accept printed coupons.

That show ruined it. I've heard that there are some lawsuits forming against the show and/or the people on it.

~I can't blame it on the show here in South Jersey. I have never known a time when there weren't limits on sale items listed right in the ad and posted on the shelf. It's almost always 4. I feel lucky when it says 4 per variety because I can stock up on more. ~
