There was a sign at the corner store that said they cannot accept $1.00 off coupons for Lactancia milk because they are already selling milk at the lowest price allowed. I thought manufacturers reimbursed stores for the value of the coupon...so the sign struck me as a bit odd. Milk at that store was $5.81/4L of 2%

    Save-A-Lot here (WNY) milk $2.19 for whole - $1.99 for 2%

My wife makes her own Choco syrup.

    Cocoa @ .29/oz x 6 oz/batch = $1.74

    6 oz cocoa
1 to 1 1/2 c sugar depending on your taste
    dash salt
    1 cup water

    boil to make syrup.

will make 1-3 gallons of choco milk depending on how frugal you are.

Making your own syrup gives you more control over the ingredients.

    Publix $3.79...maybe $3.89
    Walmart $3.49
    Aldis $ $2.89

That's as good as it gets....but that's also regular milk.

Milk will be going up everywhere as soon as school starts back up.
It is due to supply and demand. The dairies have to deliver to all the schools real soon so demand will be up and supply will stay the same.

Milk around here in Nebraska local dairy keeps prices low.
    $1.99 aldi
    $2.59 walgreens
    $2.69 cvs
$2.99 kroger store on sale this week

Have no Idea what it is at walmart since I will not step foot in the store. I know it is a lot higher than Aldi and they are across the street form each other.

Milk at my Aldi's has been almost $4 ( $3.90 range) for over a month now.

Our grocery store has the individual packs of 8 oz Horizon milk on sale for $1 each.

I made it to Fred Meyer today and the price there was $3.29. So weird to see such a price difference.... these 2 stores are less than a mile apart.

I've noticed it too. Grocery store milk nearing $4.50 I choose a healthier option from our local dairy, no hormones for the cows and less expensive, but not by much. We used to drink raw milk, but it's beyond our reach now.

That said, we do not often have milk any more. We take calcium tablets to get our calcium instead, not nearly as good for you, but what else are you going to do? Something's got to give somewhere. We gave up expensive meats long ago, never thought we'd be foregoing milk.

I guess that helps us here in Washington too.

I don't buy the organic and just paid $2.48 for a gallon.
Two stores here have it for that.

The other groc. stores are higher and Rite Aid and the gas quick stops got too inconsistent with their prices so I don't even stop at them anymore. One week they would be quite a bit cheaper, the next week much more............don't play that game with my shopping!
