    Ugh, I get so anxious and irritated as well. My Wal-Mart will purposely take "higher" cost items off their shelves if there's an ad that has it considerably cheaper.

    My walmart lowers the price to a penny or two under so you get the impression that they are lower priced.

    Going to the grocery store is getting very depressing. But on the up side, it's encouraging me to lose weight by not buying as much.

    I saw lots of canning goods at Walmart ( Ball and Generic brand) and noticed that there were coupons in the Sunday papers lately for Ball canning items.

    Yeah. It makes sense in hard economic times. I am calling all my elderly friends who don't can anymore and asking for any canning supplies they might have. I've been rewarded richly with tons of jars. Most are unsuitable, but some can be used. I do need to buy new rings and seals often. But like you said, they are available at Walmart and other places this time of year.
