    Default Emergency Fund

So how many of you have an emergency fund? I only started one last January but I am so proud that I kept it up. We haven't touched it once. I explained to dh that it is for an emergency (sickness, loss of job etc.) We only have $2,400 in it now but if we keep it up I know it will come in handy one day!

I am finally starting one after 5 years out of school...my debts (except student loan) will be paid in January. Problem is, I am moving to my own apartment in February and need furniture! But I still plan on keeping some savings for emergencies! It is nice to finally see a + balance in the ol' bank account and think to myself "I don't need to spend that on x, y, and z bills".

Yes, thank goodness! Last week we had to spend just under $500 on car repairs

I'll be starting one late January after we have paid our property taxes. For now all of that extra money is going to the property taxes.

I don't have one, but plan on starting one asap. I know we really need it, so eventually we will begin one next year.

I have a small emergency fund. It is reassuring to have a little tucked away for unexpected expenses. I wish it were more.

Dh has a stock plan at work, so that is our emergency fund. He puts the maximum amount into it each year and the company matches, and then after 1 year, we own the stocks. He participates every year. The money is taken directly out of his paycheck so we don't miss it, and his stock always does okay, so that's our fund.
