My poor little guy
He was bitten by a mosquito on the eyelid Saturday night. I gave him Benadryl when I noticed it swelling. Yesterday, it was swollen shut. I took him to Urgent care where they gave him a prescription for antibiotics and told me to keep using Benadryl.
Still swollen today. He saw himself in the mirror and called himself Pirate Benny because one eye is covered.
So lucky he is so good natured, but I wish I knew what to do for his eye.

If it isn't bothering him too much, it sounds like you are doing what you can. Happily, it was just a mosquito, vs a wasp or something that could really deliver a punch!!

Hope he feels better soon. Maybe a cold compress or tea bag might help with the swelling a little.

Is it getting better at all? If it doesn't start going down soon or if it gets worse at all, I'd take him straight back to urgent care. Infections around the eye are serious business. We went through this with my middle kid and my dr actually drew a line around the swelling so I knew if it got worse.
I hope it gets better quick. Glad to hear he's such a trooper.

My three year old had the same thing happen this summer. They said they would admit her for IV meds if it didn't improve within two days. How is he today?

Swelling is about 2/3's down. Keeping him home today from school and spoiling him with granola and yogurt with mini chocolate chips for breakfast. Still calling himself a pirate though. He informed me we needed to catch a parrot "cause piwates have pawwots"
I am so lucky to have such a good natured guy.
