Yes, I have just purchased the Wonder Washer which is a hand cranked portable clothes washer...I'm spending about $3 a load to wash clothes at the apartment complexes laundry hut...even if I was able to keep it to 10 loads a month, that is $30...the Wonder Washer was $60 and I will be buying a drying rack...I sure do hope it works, lol
I bought one a couple years ago, because I was in the same situation as you. Unable to have a washer or dryer in my apartment. While it does work....it's very hard to keep up with every day laundry with it....occassional small lightweight loads is fine for it....but every day laundry takes forever....and after excessive use...my handcrank on mine broke....After washing each load...you have to hand wring all the laundry afterwards...before you can let it air dry. It does work my recommendation is for small, loads of say socks and undergarments....things like jeans and heavier weight items I would wash in the paid washer and dryers...Good luck and have fun testing it out!
I got it more for things like panties and socks, My work uniforms and jeans and towels and sheets, I will continue to wash at the laundry hut....usually I have to just do uniforms two times a month and jeans are about the same...
I bought one and got it two days ago. I have not used it yet but looking forward to your post to see how it works. Seems like you should be able to use fabric softner also. Good luck
Hey Homemaker66, it works amazing! I do one wash cycle with HE soap (about half a TBS) and then a rinse cycle with fabric softner (about a TBS) and then one rinse cycle with plain water...clothes are soft and clean!!! Pre-treat stains just like with regular laundry. The closes dry up pretty soft and I am happy to think about how long my clothes will last now
I LOVE my Wonder Washer. It only took 15 minutes tops to do two loads of laundry!!! The good part is it only took 1 tbs of soap for each load with that little bit the laundry soap will last for a mighty long time.
Lastyear I bought a Panda washer for camping...it is neat...it does 5.5lbs of laundry at a time...while it won't do blankets or the like...it will come in handy for cleaning a 5 year olds clothing.
This sounds like it'd be perfect for me and the laundry I usually have to do.
Can you please tell me if it is a quiet machine or not? We're not allowed washers of our own and not sure if we could have these or not but if they are really quiet, I'd sure consider getting one!
I had never heard of this item until reading your post. It sounds interesting. I am going to tell DS#1 and DIL about this item to see if they think they might want to try one.
