Question Can you pass up a bargain if you don't need it?

I always use to find good bargains and purchase them because they were such good deals, but I'm now learning that even though its a bargain, if I don't need it, its not a bargain to me.

How about you? Is it easy to pass up a good sale or bargain?

yes, lately i've been passing up free stuff because i know it isn't exactly too healthy for me...(free cool whip and cream cheese for example)

right now i'm sure i'm missing some good deals on stuff for the house i want, but i'd rather spend 0 now and wait for another sale to come around again later...

Finally, I can go into a store and not have a cart ful of stuff I don't need.

The first couple of times I passed on a sale weren't as easy as the last few times. It was so amazing at C'mas to see and not have that instant one on one bonding experience with stuff. Stuff!

    I'm FREE!!!

I am restocking the pantry, so LLs are still a huge thrill! But with last years price book, I am a VERY savvy shopper!

I have absolutely learned to bypass a good deal if it is something I don't need. It's not a great deal if I need to use up valuable space to store something that won't get used!

Yes, I'm getting better at this too. It's not a bargain if I'm never going to use it!

I don't pass up deals on staples that are nonperishable, i.e., TP, toothpaste, etc. These have to be close to free for me to be interested though! The time I found TP for .25 a four pack (it was not wonderful stuff, but at that price, who cares?), I used up my last money and spent $35.00 on the stuff!!! DH hated it, BTW--called it Soviet TP. He swore that the Cold War wasn't won by the arms race, but by the good TP we have in the USA!

This is my problem that I will fix this year. If I see jeans on a clearance for $3.00 I have to buy them. Even if the kid they will fit has 10 pairs at home. This is why I have so much laundry. So I am a work in progress on this concern.

It's tough for me to pass up a good sale but I am working on it. If something is virtually free & I can use it before it expires I'll buy it.
I am learnig to walk away when I have enough at home.Need to use up what I already have in some instances.

I had to learn to pass them up. It was hard at first and still hard at times. I have wrote down stores I want to shop at and what is on sale there only to later get in the car to go there and change my mind, telling myself I really don't need this or that.

I can pass up anything, especially if I leave my money at home!
I have upset dh this way a time or 2, I take just enough for my list items when I go out.
I used to marvel at a friend weho would buy flip flops in September because they were "only $3 a pair and the kids will need them in the summer". Why not wait a few more weeks til they go down to $1.50. For me storing hte flipflops from September to June was not worth the space, but I go barefoot most times anyway!
