Thumbs up Towels on the cheap!!

I posted in another thread I am wanting to make my house into a home and decorate with lace, Victorian style!!

I also wanted to purchase some new towels and put the lace on them, but with dh still out of work and having been given enough towels to last for a very long time, I decided to put lace on all the newer hand towels I had been given. The lace was in a large bag that I had purchased at a yard sale in the spring, 2 bags for $2.00 total.

This afternoon I did 5 of the towels, and viola - new towels on the cheap. What a difference lace made.

I just cut off the frayed part, zig zagged the towel and then zig zagged the lace and I'm quite impressed with the results.

I'll finish the towels later today and then I'm on to doing the same with our pillowcases. I can hardly wait to see the results of those.

So before spending $$, always look for ways to do things with what you have.

They sound beautiful, love it when things work out like that. I find it amazing though how many things around the house are like that, we don't really need to go out and buy, there is usually an alternative!! Just need some imagination and I'm getting better at it.
