Default What's your favorite frugal book?

Mine is and will always be the COMPLETE TWG but thats just a given. My mom bought me a copy of the Queen of Clean and I love it.Tons of HM cleaners and what to do with leftover stuff.I might have to get another so I can keep one in my bathroom and kitchen to grab.

    I have 3 -

The Simple Living Guide by Janet Luhrs

    Frugal Luxuries by Tracey McBride

The Busy Mom's Guide to Simple Living by Jackie Wellwood

I did enjoy the TWG but it wasn't my favorite book.

TWG is about the only frugal books I have read. I got the CTWG at Sam's Club a few months back. I really need to read some more on the subject. I really feel I learn more here at the Village than I did reading TWG. You gals are great!

The TWG was the first frugal book that really inspired me to change to way I looked at money. I have read lots of other books as well to keep me on track. I still really need to work on it.

Homestead Mamma, I haven't read "Frugal Luxuries" yet. What were your fav. topics in the book?

Definitely the TWG books. I have reread them so many times, I couldn't count, and they continue to inspire me.

Shell, the reason I so loved Frugal Luxuries and I read it at least twice a year, is that it helped me to put frugality into prespective, that even though your frugal you can have nice things at little expense.

Every chapter I learnt something new. It truly was a book that inspired me and helped me to be who I am.

I enjoyed Miserly Moms and, of course, the Tightwad Gazette. I like frugal living books that have tips and ideas in short snippets.

The Complete Tightwad Gazette definitely! I also like Clean House, Clean Planet by Karen Logan (cleaning recipes) and Marnie's Kitchen Shortcuts by Marnie Swedburg (full of great cooking recipes!).

CJ, I will have to check out the Frugal Luxuries book you discussed. I will look at our local library. Thank you!

I like the TWG. I also like a book called "A family raised on rainbows"by Beverly Nye. It was published in 1979! It is about inexpesibly creating a home for your family. From reading your posts Homestead Momma, I think you would really enjoy it (if you can find it).
