I love my price book...but it is in sore need of updating...I'll do it this weekend!
A price book is an item by item listing of what you use and the price (hopefully on sale--lol), where you bought it, and the size...That way you can tell before you purchase something if it is a good buy.

How Often??? Now where near often enough!!! LOL I try to update at least once a month, but its been... umm let's see...ummm oh about 6 months since i have updated. Thanks for the reminder. I just did a big trip, so now would be the time!! LOL
Edited to add:
I do a quck once over on the grocery ads when they come in to see if anything is a GREAT deal, and if there is something I add it to my price book right then, so I won't forget.

I actually don't update mine. I thought that the purpose of the price book was to see the pattern of when stuff goes on sale. So like tomato sauce, for example, I have four or five different entries of tomato sauce (lets say same brand and same store) and I have the date and the price. I usually mark it w/an "s" to signify special price.
Since I usually do my shopping at Walmart and Kroger, I have the two prices for one item. But that one item, may go on sale at Kroger, so I'll write that that into my price book. Hopefully, once I write all those times that it goes on sale, I'll see the cycle of when it goes on sale and can then plan to stock up.
