Well, *I* didn't think it was strange, but my sister and my DH thought I was a little nutty using bread bag tabs and my hot glue gun to repair cracks in my laundry basket....and that I had enough saved to pick out tabs that matched the basket.

I've only had the laundry basket for 20 years, so I didn't think it had outlived its usefulness yet.

I have used dryer lint for several things, the birds, making homemade paper, making firestarters...... I use the plastic from 2 ltr bottles for crafts, I save and use all the unusual papers I find in packages, I save single sided corrigated cardboard for my feng shui candle gardens, I reuse old electrical waire for crafts and jewlrey, I use the plastic net bags from turkeys for a variety of things, including... cleaning my grill or a grill at the campground, I just floss the pipes with it.... I've reused the magnets from speakers...... I've used weird parts from old radios and computers to build robots for my son's space room..... I've used lots more and no doubt stranger things but can't think of them...

Okay I do have to say this is one I started along time ago and now they sell them in the stores (wish I marketed this one)......I use the shower caps I get when I go to hotels to cover my food with in bowls, etc. Works great in the micro when reheating too. I always ask the hotel for few extra and they always give me some.

I shred my kid's homeschool assignments then remake paper out of it to use as cards or embellishments for my handmade cards.
