Question How are your frugal New Year's Resolutions going?

A lot of us have set frugal New Year's Resolutions on Jan 1st. I was wondering how everyone was doing two weeks later? I have continued putting money in my emergency fund and plugging away at my credit cards. I almost have one paid off!!!!

Let me know how you ladies are doing!

Good job on keeping your resolutions. Keep plugging away at your cc and you'll get them paid off. I just received my cc bill from xmas Thank goodness I have the money to pay it. My resolution (to save money for a house downpayment) is going Ok. I signed up for a shopper job. The money isn't much but it is something. There is a house about 3 blocks from me that is for sale. I want it! It needs some work, but it is affordable and the property taxes are low. It will probably sell before I am ready to buy, but it sure is nice to dream.

I think I'm doing good, I started my gift closet, i've been buying more wholesome(but yet really cheap) foods, and I've done a GOOD job not spending much on clothes for myself. I spent a total of about 6$ so far this month and I have a limit of 15$. Only 2$ of that 6 was something that wasn't a need...but hey a girl has to have SOME frills right

I wish I could work on the credit card, but unfortunatly i have a dh who racks up the bill buying new junk for the drums and new guitars...man it makes me sick ...oh well at least he does rebates for some of his computer stuff, and he really does love a good bargain...i just gotta make him realize that spending 700$ even of its worth 1500$, is not going to HELP us get ahead in life

Mine are going good so far. My main one was to utilize the library more. So far, I've put 6 books on hold at the library instead of running to the used book store or Books-a-million. I've only purchased 2 books (because the library didn't have them).

I'm also trying to be more creative in my use of what's in the fridge. It seems like I end up throwing too much away. Yesterday I found some eggnog that hadn't gone bad, but we were tired of it. So, I made eggnog muffins and froze them!

I am doing pretty good. Better than I have ever done! I have already accomplished one of my goals-paid off a loan. And, I used that money we were paying on it towards a cc. Trying to snowball that debt!

Also, I am still tracking my spending, which I wasn't sure I could do.

Next month, we will be paying off our truck loan, so that is another resolution.

lso where I live you can pay about $25 a year and get a PLAC(public library access card) that allows you to borrow books from any library in the state. As you can tell, I love the library. Ask your librarian what programs are available in you area.

oops lost the first half of that last message. To Pam: Most libraries have a loan program where they will borrow books for you from larger libraries. Also, in my small town, my library card can be used at a couple of larger libraries in the area.(see above pst for the rest)

I am doing great on some, not so good on others (the self improvement ones! Giving up caffine is soooooo hard.)

I have gone to the envelope system (if I take it out in cash the day it is deposited, DH can't blow it -- I have the checks and his debit card!). Seeing where my money in actual paper bills helps. Makes me feel empowered when I see there is money in the Debt reduction and savings envelopes (from on-line auctions and survey response checks).

We haven't eaten out yet this year and we have been eating out of the pantry. So far so good!

Default We have about $36.00 more Dollars left to pay on One Credit Card and then we will

We have about $36.00 more Dollars left to pay on One Credit Card and then we will have that Credit Card Payed off for Good.
So then we can apply that money to the next Credit Card and so on and we will be Debt Free.

I guess I'm doing great. I've been sick for the past two weeks, and haven't left the house for 1 1/2 weeks. So, I haven't spent any money. For about a week, I've been too weak to cook, so my husband has been doing that. We haven't eaten out once, unless you count the roast chicken from Sam's last night. Hopefully, I can get well, and continue staying home not spend money, then we'll do okay.

Well so far it's been 40 days without a cigarette, but for some reason the last 3 or 4 days I've had major cravings again, Ugh! Hope this passes soon - no fun.
