Do you ration food (treats, soda etc)
Do you ration food? I know a few things that I ration or else I would eat it all at once! My slimfast peanut crunch bars (taste like butterfingers), I limit myself to one/day, or I could eat 3-4 easily! I also ration my V8 juice, I buy a case and I have one/day to make it last a month and lastly I just found a 1 point (Weight Watchers) cheesecake treat from the local dairy, but they are 1.40 each! So I try to limit myself to one every couple of days. So what do you ration for your family, yourself, your pets, etc? And do you think it saves you money, time, health? Why do you ration?

I only allow myself one cola or coffee a day - too much caffine and I can't sleep. With the kids, I don't let them eat more than two or three pieces at a time (holiday candy) and that is only every few days.

I limit myself to about a dozen almonds (or whatever nut I have at the time) per day..some days i don't have any at all so it really helps them last, plus I really should only have a small amount of them at a time anyways..
I guess with everything else I just try to eat it in moderation ...but with ayla and dh i just let them eat until they are done
but boy oh boy i sure wish dh would limit himself with his cokes

Yes, for anything like pretzels, Pirate's Booty, cheddar bunnies, go go grahams, etc. I open 1 per week (on each Friday). When it's gone, there's no more until the next Friday. I do it mainly to save money.

I don't really ration anything, things that I know I can't control myself around I just buy what I will allow at the time. An example is V8 juices--I like the 12 oz cans, but if I buy them I only buy a couple and then wait until the following week or so to get some more. Those are my weakness and I could down 6 or more in a short period of time, very easily! Or if I am craving candy, I will just buy a couple bars and then not get any more until the following week. I don't "stockpile" or buy those types of things in great number for good reason!

I don't ration things. I watch what I eat and what I feed the children.

I ration food for school lunches. I'll buy certain items for DD's lunch (i.e., crisps, yogurt pots). If she eats them before they make it into her lunch, I don't buy any more. She'll have to make do with a smaller lunch. She's soon figured out that she needs to leave these foods alone if she finds them in the cupboard.

I ration things like cookies, chips, and donuts or they would be eaten in one day. Plus, I want my children to learn healthy eating habits, so I'd rather give them fruit, yogurt, or popcorn on a daily basis and save the other things for once every few days.

I ration for the whole family. I think it is important to limit our daily intake of snacks and junk. We all have dessert each night and that's about it as far as junk goes. We tend to stick with fruit and veggie or yogurt snacks during the day.

I do with special treats and soda. Otherwise it would be gone in a day!

I have to ration soda to one a day for ds. The little debbie type oatmeal cream snacks is one box of 12 per week. If he eats them all in 2 days time then he does without. No rationing is necessary for the rest of us.
