What frugal things have you done this week?
I cancelled a $300 course so I will use that towards my furniture/grocery fund for the new apartment1
I made up a budget and have a certain amount set for spending and groceries and will stick to it!
I set up automatic withdrawal on the 15th of each month towards my RRSP (retirement savings)
I am planning to put aside at least 10% away in savings each paycheck.
I have cut down my movie going a lot (used to go about 3-4 times/month)
I got a calling card for my cell phone to reduce my long distance costs.
I have enough shampoo, soap, body wash, toothpaste to last about a year and I vow to use it up before I buy more!
Paid my car off this month!
Not frugal things:
weight watchers is 12$/week
I have eaten out more than in this week

No take out or resturant this week. Used coupons EVERY TIME I shopped this week. Filed my taxes online, getting a nice refund.

still waiting for my w-2 so i can do my taxes, (myself and online)
I bought a carton of Cigarettes, instead of packs and saved like $7. bought the animal food on sale big huge bags cats were 8.99 dog was 7.99. bought cheap shampoo and conditioner, and have pretty much stayed in the $80. week budget. Also haven't gone out of town. so i only put $5. in my gas tank. so since before new years i have spent less than 22. in gas.

clearanced shopped at target for some things we needed..
Shopped using coupons and taking advantage of catalina coupons to make my cereal 'free' ...also got free feminine pads!
shopped around different stores to get the best deals
i've been using up my perishables before they go bad..I am doing so much better than I did a year ago
cleared up dd's REAL bad diaper rash on our own so saved a trip to the doctors office which we were about to have to do (about 10-15$ there)
I've been using washcloths instead of papertowels to wipe up things I used to use papertowels for.

1. Used Coupons when grocery shopped and compairison priced --buying loss leaders.
2. Grated my own cheese rather than buy pre-grated.
3. Did not run excessively this week...still had 1/2 tank of gas by the end of the week.
4. Bulk bought...peanut butter, canned veggies, and fruit
5. Wrote off the savings of groceries from my checking account. I actually saved 45.00 but could only subtract 25.oo from the account (don't see it -- don't spend it--It's still in the account, but not showing on my balance)...That left me with 25.oo for gas and emergencies (if any). What ever is left by next pay, I will subtract from the checking....trying to build an emergency fund.
6. cooked pork chops for dinner tonite...enough for 2 meals...froze the extra.
7. Wore layered clothes and kept the thermostat at 65. It's still snowing in Ohio...LOL
8. Washed clothes and dried consecutively today...less electricity if the dryer stays hot.
9. Packed lunches for work.
I could do alot more...I need to re-read my Gazette...hehehe

1. I turned down the thermostat and turned off some lights.
2. Cooked all our meals this week and only went out once to eat(hubby got us Popeye's Chicken on Friday night to give me a break).
3. Started stocking up my pantry.
4. Drank water all week, only bought soda for our superbowl party, normally we drink it everyday, we had been without for about two weeks.
5. Doing a yearlong budget with dh tonight to get our finances better in order.
6. Devised a cheaper method to repair our cement deck, saving $500.00.
7. Started a Christmas Club account for next Christmas.

Thanks Shell, I am grateful and lucky that I work part-time but make pretty good money. I am single, with no debts except my student loans, so I want to take this "extra" income and save it now so that when I do have a family, I might be able to continue part-time or even stay at home...either that or buy a home with income potential (either duplex or townhome and rent out a room, etc)

Hmmm. . . . let's see. . . .
I bought 100% cotton shirts at the Salvation Army store for .25 each- will use those for the quilting tutorial instead of buying fat quarters.
Bought MIL 2 pairs of jeans and me a pair of dress pants (still with tags) for .25 each at the Salvation Army store.
Stocked up on the loss leaders - thank goodness as there are no decent sales this week.
Made homemade stew from home canned veggies and sale purchased hamburger. It was delicious too.
Made a complete dinner for a funeral our church was hosting- all from stuff I had in my pantry/freezer. Everything was either home grown or purchased at incredible savings.

I didn't shop at all this week
have enough shampoo, pads, soups, crackers, paper towels, p. butter, & canned goods to last a couple months if not longer.
haven't had to toss anything before it got used
doing all my laundry in 1 day
keep heat turned down a little more
stocked up on coupons for the next few shopping trips
have most of my bills caught up to date
paid off most of my other bills

I have continued to use my cloth diapers and to use my homemade cloth wipes for my daughter. I am also taking all my meals to work...and I am bringing my own snacks too! I shop at a dented can store and try to have a pantry stocked up....
I am about to start making a pantry list for stocking. I hope in the next month to get it done....

Hmmm, let's see:
*Shopped with coupons
*Took advatange of the Walgreens FAR deals, plus used coupons on those deals so I made money on the deals!
*Didn't make any unnecessary trips to town to cut down on gas usage.
*Made lunches for everyone, instead of buying lunches for work and school.
*Kept thermostat on a set temp.~*Michelle*~
