Talking Is it okay to do this in our siggy's? Or do you already?

I am trying to think of a way that I could keep track of my YTD grocery totals, could we keep a running tab of our grocery totals in our siggy's?
I am thinking at least for me I'd just update it at the end of each month...but this way I can keep a total somewhere that won't get lost, spilled on or whatever it is that happens to my important papers
Last year I would have just searched through each months threads to get my total, but it seemed like such a chore at the time

of course you can do that. There is also vbnotepad in your user cp. If you click and look far right it's called vbpad.

Okay, go to "User Cp" and then where it says "User Control Panel for aylasmommy", just under that, go to the far right hand side and it says "vBpad".

The vbpad is like your own personal memo pad. You can keep little memos to yourself there. No laughter here just a smile.

I like the vB pad thing, too!

I have mine in a folder at this time. It is a two pocket 10 cent folder. I take the receipts from each store then paper clip them to a 3X5 index card. On the front of the card I put January, and keep a running total for that month.

The reason I do it that way, is to keep a history of prices to transfer to my price book. And also, I can see if there was one item in particular that I buy that could be cut from budget to reduce when necessary. Like buying large baking potatoes. I haven't bought them this month at all and shaved about $18 off the bill, maybe more. So, when I need to cut back, I know NOT to plan baked potatoes in my meal plans.

Then I slide that folder into my Frugal Notebook or briefcase.

Are you going to keep a running balance or Month by Month w/ a yearly total?

Great idea, Heather! I'm going to do this as well. I'll add every month, so that by December, I have one big (small) total.
