What I Learned About Surviving Hard Times . . .

Most of us have had some hard times. Some of us are still having hard times. When I was off work sick I learned the importance of having a stocked pantry, make sure your bills are up to date, have some money put away for a rainy day. What have been your hard times and what have you learned from it? And never forget live within your means!

i agree with everything u just said..i might add use your unemployment, reduced paycheck,ect very carefully.i didnt do this the first time i was laid off and almost went thru all of my saving..

this time im being very careful and have barely touched my savings account.

When I was a single mom, it was hard. I am feeling lately like hard times are coming again, since they cut my hours to 3 hours a day and my dh is not working a regular job. I am stocking my pantry, paying up on my bills and trying to save for that dreaded rainy day I am pretty sure will be in my not too distant future. The best thing I can do is to take on more classes since my hours are cut at work, it only makes sense to work harder in school. That is the light at the end of my seemingly long tunnel. I have made progress this year however transferring to a four year University. I am also making great strides in terms of creating a stockpile. The threat of war is also scary, but I will just dig my heels in and ride it out!
