    Default shampoo v.s body wash?

    Hello!

We just bought out regular body wash for 1.99 which last us two months.....but I noticed a big shampoo bottle for 0.95 and I was wondering if I could use shampoo as body wash? Is there a difference in their cleaning ways?

    Thanks!

    Melina

My dh has always used shampoo as a body wash. I've always thought it was weird but he thinks using soap is not necessary.

I would use the shampoo as a body wash before I used the body wash as a shampoo. Did that just make sense??? lol

i have never compared ingredients, but chances are they both contain pretty much the same things. if that is so, i see nothing worng with using shampoo to wash you from head to toe. some of the baby ones are made to be used like that anyway.

I (and we all know my shower habits LOL) have run out of soap before and used shampoo. I don't care as long as i am clean, I don't think i would use body wash in my hair though I am just to particular about having it right. KWIM? I don't know if I know. LOL

I use shampoo to cleanse my face. I have excessively oily skin that would develop VERY deep acne. Especially around my chin and neck!

After I started using shampoo to wash my face (internet tip), I have very few out breaks!! Excellent for deep pore cleansing and a heck of alot cheaper than "Biore"!

After washing my face, I use olive oil to moisturize. It soaks in after about 5 min. and stops my skin from becoming too dry!

As for using as a body wash...Make sure you moisturize after using or your skin will become "itchy" dry!

My friend that went on a year long mission trip did this because it was so much cheaper for her to purchase shampoo to take along and then water it down a bit to make it stretch.

I'm sure it works fine.....I buy the Dollar Store equivalent of Baby Magic Baby Wash for $1 and use that as body wash too. It works well and isn't drying.

I would have to assume it would work the same.......

Graci, what a tip about the shampoo on the face and neck....I fight acne as well, especially around my neck line.......
Does your face "shine" using the olive oil as moisturizer? What I mean is a bad shine, not a good one!!!! I'm definitely gonna have to try that......
