Thumbs up $10 Emegency Grocery list

I received this in an email from a frugal living yahoo group I belong to. I found it interesting and thought it may help someone who really needed to budget tightly that week.

The $10 list (Based on Wal-Mart NON-sale prices):
    5 lbs self-rising flour .87
    1 dozen eggs 1.09
    1 gallon Milk 2.00
    1 lb lard .67
    4 lbs pinto beans 2.00
    4 lbs rice 2.00
    1 small onion .25

With these you can make bean soup, beans and rice, biscuits and plain white gravy, and a fried rice-type dish. It is enough food to provide sustenance until you can get assistance.

If you have another $5, you can include a little more variety and nutrition. Add the following to the first list:
    2 cans diced tomatoes 1.00
    1 lb hamburger 2.00
    1 can corn .33
    1 box macaroni & cheese mix .33
    1 can tuna .50
1 lb margarine (in stick form) .44
    1 can peas .33
Now you can make a hamburger helper-style dish (hamburger, rice and tomatoes) and tuna noodle
