Default I'm Determined! Rambling Reaffirmation For Frugality!

Over the last 2 months, with little storage and nothing but an office refrigerater, I have fallen from the frugal throne!

I have things in hand once more and am determined to exercise my frugal living skills to the max!

I had to laugh yesterday when DH came home. He called the phone company to have the sevice connected while he was at work and said that he was adamant about "basic" service only.

By the time he got off the line with the phone co., he thought he had severely P'ed off the phone co. rep...they tried every gimic they could come up with to get him to sign up for more than basic! I'm so PROUD of him for sticking to his guns!! hehehehe

We both have worked our frannies off over the last few months and we want to pay the house off early...any ideas??

Graci, I am so happy that you are back with us and I am so proud of your DH for his frugal ways. You have taught him well.

WTG, to your dh! It's hard to stand up to sales people, sometimes. I don't have advice, but I know you can pay off the house, early, with your determination. It's good to see you back! You have been missed!

I think one of the main parts of saving is to have a goal in mind. You have that. Now make a game out of seeing how fast you can achieve it. What happens after you achieve that? Keep looking to towards the future.
Look where your can-do attitude has gotten you thus far.

My best advice is to snowball a payment plan. Do you have any other debts that you're working hard on paying off? For example if you have a car that you owe $800 on and make $225 in payments every month.... . When you're done paying off the car add that $225 to your house pmt. and so on. It goes VERY fast doing that.

~48 yr. old sahw, livin' it up in our empty nest, smack dab in the middle of everywhere.~

*We're debt freeeeeeeee! (including the house)*

WTG Graci on your reafirmation for frugality.

Stay on course, set goals and don't buy unless you absolutely have too. Pay everything with cash, it makes you stop to think before you purchase anything.

Its the little things that add up to the big things. When we decided to go cc free, I looked at our statements and in all but a few instances, it was the $10 here, the $20 there that quickly added up. Watch those pennies and you'll save those $$.

    Graci,
Just hop back on that frugal wagon, hit the double and triple coupon sales (you have those in your area right?) and enjoy that new home of yours!
