What exactly is a loss leader?
Anyone?

A loss leader is a product that the store will put on such a low sale price that they expect to lose money selling it, but their goal is to draw you into the store with that sale price so that you will buy all their other high priced items.
An example in my area was yams at 29 cents a pound and normally they are 1.29- 1.79 a pound.
