Question How many of you "dumpster dive" for coupons?

When I go the the recycling center, I always look for extra coupon inserts in the newspaper bins there.

The lady who does the Glenwood route dumps her extra inserts in the bin on Friday. The SW Iowa distributor lives here in town and he dumps his on Wednesday. (They dump them the evening before they empty the bins) I was able to get 27 extra inserts last Sunday from our route. If that keeps up I won't need to hoist myself into the dumpster any more!

We have paper recycling cans and if I see a BTFE tag I will tear it off. I don't have coupons here.

I would, but we don't have a recycling center here. I can't understand why anyone would throw away coupons in the first place. It's like throwing money away, imo.

When we have puppies, I usually go around to the local grocery stores and convenience stores to ask them for the newspapers that are too old to sell. They give me all of them, including the Sunday papers, where of course all the coupons are!

So besides getting papers for the puppys, I get their coupons as well. Since we've had our last litter, guess I'm out of luck.

We have curbside recycling pickup here and the actual recycling facilities are fenced and padlocked.

Tonight DH and I are taking the kids in for youth group in the town with the recycling center. Hubby knows that my favorite thing to do while we are there is go hit those newspaper recycling bins! Yep, I'm easy to please and he says I'm the cheapest date he's ever had!
