Default Do you use Disposable Cameras?

Before you take them in to get developed, take out the two batteries that are inside. They are hardly used by the camera.

I don't use them myself, but it sounds like a great tip. Batteries are expensive!

Great tip Karen! I have several that we have used on trips that I need to do this to before having the film developed.

Great tip Karen! I also read somewhere that you can go back to the photo lab at most stores and ask if they sell the batteries from disposeable cameras and they will usually sell you a bag for $1 or even better...give them to you since they toss them out anyway.

I am sure it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I didn't know you could take them out out without exposing the film, good idea!

We use them occasionally (more so now since I dropped and broke the buttons on my advantix camera)

My husband ALWAYS does this. He used to work in the photo/camera department of a large grocery store and they were allowed to take the batteries out if they wanted to and keep them--the store just tosses those cameras anyway. We used to have a steady supply of batteries that way! And yes, the batteries are still like new after the camera is used up.
